Great location. Cosy cottage, well equipped. Have stayed before so disappointed this time to discover that logs are no longer provided for the woodburner.

We had an enjoyable week at Dolphin cottage even though the weather was quite changeable. We stayed there about 2 years ago and the owners have made some good changes including a new kitchen and dining room furniture. The accommodation is ideal for our extended family and the dog with two bedrooms and bathroom upstairs and a double with ensuite downstairs. The cottage is more spacious than you expect with a large lounge and separate dining room. The kitchen is well equipped with plenty of crockery etc. There is also a pretty little garden with a picnic table

I was very disappointed that towels were not provided. Upstairs accommodation was not very satisfactory.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; I always telephone and inform guests prior to their stay that towels are not provided; Dolphin Cottage is a self-catering property. During the phone call to you, no concerns were raised at the time that we did not supply towels so I am disappointed that you have chosen to highlight this via an online review. As for the upstairs accommodation, the photographs on the website provide an accurate representation of the two bedrooms, both of which have recently had blinds fitted and new bedding. Perhaps you would find a hotel more suitable. I hear Morston Hall is quite nice....

We took our two young grandchildren to Dolphin Cottage and it was the perfect place - not too perfect to make us nervous but very comfortable and with everything we needed. I wish I had taken a hair dryer as it was the only thing I couldn't find. I am sure I just didn't look hard enough. Good to have the ensuite shower in the double bedroom with a separate bathroom for the children. Pre-visit conversations with the owner were very helpful and friendly. We would definitely take our grandchildren again - they adored it!

This was our 4th. stay at the cottage. Over the years there have been some changes, furniture, decor and a new kitchen! All very nicely done. The little garden is delightful and a real bonus as we take our spaniel with us. The location is perfect and the pub food at the Bell is amazing. each time we go we find somewhere new . We look forwards to next year!

The cottage is charming. Ideal location for visiting places and towns. Situated down a quiet country lane with a lovely pub 5 minutes away. Yes the parking is on a lane but plenty of room one you get used to it,and the fact that probably only a couples of cars went past entire time we were there. Lovely for the dog as sweet enclosed garden and the best stocked kitchen that I have ever seen in a cottage. Really comfortable

Lovely cottage which was really cosy, comfortable and clean and very well equipped. Log burner was used and plenty of logs/coal available. It was one of the best cottages we have stayed in. Having two bathrooms was a real bonus. There's not a great deal in Wivetonbut but lots to do nearby. We were able to walk to Blakeney and Cley from the cottage. People have mentioned parking - it was ok and we parked 2 cars on lane outside. Would definitely stay here again

Dolphin Cottage is a picturesque peaceful retreat in a small hamlet, yet within walking distance to the picturesque coastal villages of Blakeney, and Cley, with its famous nature reserve. The gem of Wiveton is the renowned pub, The Bell, only a five-minute walk away, but ensure you book for dinner in advance of your visit, as it gets busy, even in winter. The Cottage is charming and compact, but large enough for our party of 5 adults. Welcome touches, not often found in other cottages include a supply of dishwasher tablets, soap, and condiments and sauces etc. Despite the warning of possible unreliability, we found the WIFI connection problem-free, and the Sky Television, and wood burning stove (fully stocked) were welcome and used. In researching our visit to North Norfolk, we read carefully the descriptions of the available cottages on-line, and this one perfectly matched the advertised features, and exceeded our expectations. Although apprehensive following earlier negative reviews, we found parking in the narrow lane outside the front gate presented no problem for our two large cars, and once while unloading, a large local farm vehicle passed with plenty of room to spare. Our tip would be to unload in the quiet road and then park the car tight to the gate/wall. We are an extended family of keen birdwatchers, who enjoy walking and good food and drink, and for us, the cottage was perfect and we shall be booking again next year.
