Description

Modern, detached cottage for 6 situated in an elevated position enjoying stunning views over the hills and mountains with picturesque Loch Shiel in the foreground.

Doire An Daimh is Gaelic for "thicket of the stags", which is the name of the mountain behind this delightful property and also describes its lovely woodland setting, where deer and also badger are regular visitors. Acharacle is a pretty village. It offers a bakery, small shop, tearoom, pub and restaurant, all within walking distance from the property. Set in 18 acres, there are numerous woodland walks adjoining the cottage (wild chanterelle mushrooms grow nearby - a real treat to add to your breakfast or BBQ).

Very nice location, very much away from it all! Good base for exploring the local area and it has to be said the evening visit from the Pine Martin was special. Took some very good photographs of the Pine Martin as he OK with the use of a flood light. We have already re- booked for next year.

The cottage is beautifully placed to enjoy the amazing scenery around Sunart and Moidart, with the Ardnamurchan peninsula. It is well-kept and caters really well for couples or families. The nightly visits from the pine martens are the icing on the cake!

had a lovely stay at doire an daimh whildlife was amazing with the family of pine martins visiting every night for their jam sandwhiches a lovely comfy cottage the only things missing was a information book about the cottage a phone as we had no signal all week and would have been needed for emergencies up to date dvds as there is no wifi which if you have a teenager would be a great benifit to keeping them entertained you can always turn your wifi off if not wanting internet on holiday brilliant relaxing holiday will holiday at this cottage again .

A warm and comfortable base to return to after wet and windy days out in beautiful Ardnamurchan. Decking very slippery when wet so be careful to avoid slipping. Regular evening visits from a family of Pine Martens was a highlight of the stay.

We really enjoyed our stay, especially the daily visits from the Pine Marten's. The cottage was lovely and well equipped but we would have preferred an enclosed grassy area for the dogs. This wouldn't put us off revisiting but a gate on the open decked side would make it more secure if the sun's out on that side and you want to sit out. Only issue for us was the rain and the midgies but hey-ho this is the West Highland's!!

Amazing holiday cottage has everything you need for a perfect break. Highlight was the daily visit of the pine Martin, leave out food and he will visit. We have been holidaying in Scotland for 15 years always staying in cottages, I can honestly say this was one of the nicest and most comfortable ones. Stunning location, very easy to get around, one of our best weeks. We will definitely be back.😃
