Really nice cottage in excellent location to tour Northumberland. Facilities were very good and the hand-made furniture is of the highest quality. Great local walking for dogs and the Wellington pub at Riding Mill allows them in the bar area (a bonus in cold/wet weather). Highly recommended. My only gripe was the mattress in the double bedroom- the noisiest I have ever experienced. We had to move to the two single beds because it kept waking us up!

Our stay at Dere Street Cottage, over the Christmas 2015 period, was delightful. Although we were up against the forces of nature, with an excessive amount of rain, the cottage was warm and dry and fully equipped with excellent TV and music facilities and games to play. Our host was extremely accommodating and helped to ensure that we were able to host a family Christmas Day meal.

Absolutely lovely cottage - great facilities, great location, really well set up for families of all ages (we have a 5 and 3 year old). Only reason it doesn't score 10/10 is because there were no blinds over the window in the smaller bedroom and hallway. Luckily we brought some gro-blinds otherwise the kids would have been up at sunrise!

Beautiful cottage and quiet setting. So many places to visit from there.

It is a beautiful cottage, fitted out incredibly and immaculate. However it was very isolated and whilst this can be a benefit, for us we like to walk on paved on paved surfaces. Our only other comment is that the sofa's are not that comfortable. These are meant as constructive comments, but I fear we are a little old for this such a modern aesthetic style.
