The home was fab we enjoyed the games room and just chilling watching the tv we did buy a film to watch as these were limited. We cooked a couple of evening meals and several full English breakfasts in the kitchen. There were a good couple of drinking places and we had a nice takeaway from the Olive tree and enjoyed a great pie at Gosforth Hall. The walks around Gosforth were fantastic, we managed two 7mile walks on footpaths and tracks from the house and obviously lots around the lake district after a short drive. The internet when sorted was fine, Our host was having trouble with her supplier. Cakes and welcome tray were lovely.

Nice big house. Old decor but comfortable with all equipment needed. Loved the games room.

We chose the wettest weekend (on record?) when 5000 homes were affected by floods. Despite this we had an enjoyable stay and it was good to have the games room as a distraction when the rain set in. This could be improved - there was one wonky cue for the pool table and the darts were challenging! Nevertheless it provided an hour or two of fun. The rooms in the property are spacious, particularly the lounge, and the owners had certainly made it feel very festive with lots of Christmas decorations. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you are likely to need for storing food, cooking and eating. There is a washing up machine as well as the sink but there were no soap tablets or any washing up liquid - while these items may have been removed by a previous visitor a little or either would have been helpful on arrival. There is a good sized garden so we may consider visiting again in summertime.

A lovely place to stay would highly recommend. Just across the road is a bakery, delicious, home baking at its best. Other amenities also close by. Well situated for some great scenery and walking in and around Wasdale.

Excellent location. Lovely garden, much more than I expected. Game facilities are excellent. Lots to see and do. Would be a 10 all round if there was a bath. I would definitely recommend this property and would love to revisit.

Excellent cottage in remote location, ideal for Lake touring. Main road through village very busy and with no pavements difficult with dog and pram, however garden was fantastic, completely enclosed and very comfortable. Would recommend.

Lacked nothing for a comfortable stay. The details don't do justice to the size and variety of the 3 gardens, nor the cosy conservatory. Just a few yards to excellent bakery and reasonably priced grocery. Wast Water close by and stunning.
