English Country Cottages

From a touch of luxury to characterful heritage, experience one of our truly inspiring holiday properties.

Guests at Daubeneys Shippon can relax in the living room next to the wood burner whilst looking out across the garden!

These attractive holiday properties lie in the peaceful conservation village of Colerne, surrounded by rolling countryside. The Grade II* listed stable conversion (PFFH) is part of the only longhouse in Wiltshire and dating back to the 13th century, is the oldest house in the village. Beautifully refurbished to offer all modern conveniences, yet retains charm and character. Sympathetically converted, the detached, single-storey barn (PHHF) offers light and airy, contemporary accommodation. Colerne has a good selection of shops and pubs but only a short bus journey, 7 miles, will take you into Bath and Chippenham. Within easy reach of Bristol, Bradford-on-Avon and the much-filmed villages of Lacock and Castle Combe. Great area for walking. Shop 200 yards, family pub and restaurant 10 yards.

Living/dining room with vaulted ceiling, wood-burning stove and patio doors leading to own garden. Well-equipped kitchen area. Double bedroom with patio doors leading to another garden. Twin bedroom. Bathroom with over-bath shower and toilet. Wooden floor and beams throughout.

Lovely cottage, very nicely done out, very comfy beds. Melanie was most welcoming (along with Thumper!). Good location - not too far out of Bath; nice, friendly pubs in village. Would definitely visit again

The cottage was clean and comfortable and located within the Owners' grounds. It was in an ideal and peaceful position in the centre of the village. A nice place to relax after a long day of touring around. The arrival at the cottage was memorable by the very friendly welcome by the Owners' Melanie and Ian, Border Collie, Thumper and the nice provision of a welcome pack.

Very nice and clean cottage in a nice village. Everything you need is in the cottage. Nice garden. Very comfortable house. The only thing strange is that the owner when we left didn't go out his house to say goodbye to my wife and daughter.

Daubeneys is absolutely delightful, Melanie the owner has thought t about everything, the cottage is warm and welcoming and made us feel at home from the moment we stepped in. The property is dog friendly and we found lots of lovely walks near by, the local bus into Bath were also happy to have our dog on board. You must visit the White Hart in Ford where the Sunday lunch was divine (also dog friendly) although our experience at the Fox and Hounds across the road was disappointing. We would definitely stay again and have no hesitation in recommending this holiday cottage.
