Just a short walk from the River Severn and the centre of Ironbridge, with museums and craft shops, Much Wenlock is nearby.

Situated on the edge of Coalbrookdale, just a short walk from the River Severn and the centre of Ironbridge, this attractive detached holiday home benefits from a large sitting out area. This picturesque town, once at the heart of the industrial world, is now a popular tourist destination, and guests of Dale Cottage benefit from free parking in the centre of Ironbridge. Its many museums trace the town’s rich history and the great iron bridge itself serves as a dramatic memorial to its past. Today, Ironbridge has a wonderful cluster of craft and souvenir shops, some great bars and restaurants, and no less than ten museums spread along the banks of the River Severn.
For those wishing to explore beyond the beauty of Ironbridge, there are many local towns of interest to discover: historic Bridgnorth, a town of two halves, is connected by a unique Victorian cliff railway, Madeley is home to a selection of listed buildings, most notably Madeley Court, while medieval Much Wenlock boasts half-timbered buildings, whipping posts and stocks. Beyond the towns, the countryside invites, with kayaking, canoeing, cycling, golf and fishing all available nearby. Walkers can explore the local footpaths and hills, or discover the stunning scenery that surrounds the celebrated ’Long Mynd’ or Long Mountain. Moreover, this area offers a wealth of castles, abbeys, gardens, parks and historic houses. Shop, pub and restaurant 500 yards.

The holiday cottage was in a great location and was a lovely cottage, it could have done with a really good clean and a lick of paint round and about to freshen it up. The shower and bathroom were a little on the small side for my boys who are both 6 feet tall and play rugby!Having said that we had a great week the welcome hamper was very nice as was the pie shop which we visited several times. The only reason I would not go back is we have done the area and attractions now so time to go somewhere new.

Response on behalf of the owner. Thank you for your review. I am really glad you had a lovely stay. I take on board your comment on needing a lick of paint we have actually closed the cottage for January 2018 for a refurbishment so hopefully if you do come again you will be able to see a refresh.

Very centrally located for the museums. Directions to a petrol station would be useful too. We had a lovely time at Dale cottage and would definitely recommend it to other members of my family and friends. Will consider a return to see the areas that we missed.

We had a very enjoyable stay at Dale Cottage and thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful town of Ironbridge with all it has to offer. The cottage is well located at the far end of the town with easy walking access to the bridge and central area, and there is a fairly large Co-Op very close by. It would perhaps merit from an additional downstairs loo but I really don't know how that would be fitted in so I can see why there isn't one! Most of the equipment was in good working order but the kitchen scales did not work so I had to abandon my plans to cook dessert and the extractor light also did not work. There were a few cobwebs here are there but the cottage was generally very clean throughout. Lovely warm welcome from the pork pie shop where you collect the key, and a super welcome hamper. Thank you :D I would definitely stay again - very warm and welcoming and very comfortable place to stay. Lovely patio area for the warmer weather, too.

Couldn't have wished for a better short let. Walking distance to Ironbridge (5 mins) and right by the river. Easy to get to and parking for three cars! The cottage was very well appointed and comfortable. The area was quiet and there was a Co-op store within 100 metres. If the weather had been warmer we would have sat out on the patio and enjoyed the outside but the large windows made the cottage seem very open so we didn't miss out.
