It was very disappointing to find out that it was on a busy main road, was just like living next to the motorway.the front door lock was dodgy, there was mould on the bath, the extractor fan was noisy, could have done with a good clean and as for the taps, when you put them on it was like someone screeching.we went here for a bit of peace and quiet and unfortunately we got noisy traffic from 6 in the morning to 9.30 at night.and you couldn't even open a window as they were broken, and also you had to take the recycling stuff yourself to the supermarket car park, how does that work as I'm severely disabled and do not have a car,and if we hadn't done the recycling the owner was going to charge us if he had to do it.we have been going to a cottage by the sea for 11 years and have never been asked to do anything like this,so unfortunately we will never come back.....

Absolutely charming cottage in the most stunning area, in easy walking distance of Rye village where there are numerous eateries and pubs. The cottage itself is immaculate and beautifully decorated.

Whilst a lovely little cottage the little things matter. The Windows wouldn't open far enough, though we guess that's a safety precaution. The outside area was tatty damp and furniture wasn't comfortable so didn't get used. A good tidy up and cutting back of trees would've made it a sunnier pleasant area to enjoy. The parking wasn't brilliant as right on a very busy road, though car park is only 50 metres away, only problem was market day and finding somewhere else to park. However it was a very well stocked and comfortable cottage with plenty of information. Walking distance to all amenities in rye including the train station so days out very easy to Brighton and Hastings .

Very cosy, warm house in an excellent location close to all the shops, railway station, pubs etc. Parking was genuinely 50 yards away and we managed to comfortably find a space each day of our stay (reasonable too at £1.50 a day!) The loft room, where the two single beds were, was quite cold - don't know if the radiator had been switched off - we couldn't get it to work. There was no instruction folder - not a great problem, just hope we didn't do anything wrong - don't know what the situation/arrangements were for recycling etc. but we missed rubbish collection on Monday morning. The kitchen was really well stocked - there were lots of crockery, cutlery, pots, pans and equipment. We bought fish from the quay on two days and cooked it - splendid!
