This property is an ideal base from which to explore the surrounding area, and the town of Pickering is nearby.

Located in the heart of the North York Moors National Park and a short walk from the famous Cropton Brewery, these three of eleven holiday cottages (refs 29762, 29763 and 29801) are surrounded by 80 acres of open countryside and are set on a working equestrian farm. Daisy Cottage (29762) is a semi-detached cottage, The Granary (29801) is a detached barn conversion and Honeysuckle (29763) is a terraced property, all set in a rural location. Guests are welcome to visit the Friesian mares and foals wandering at their leisure. Landscaped gardens dotted with seating areas are an ideal place in which to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet. An ideal base from which to explore the surrounding area, as the market town of Pickering is just 5 miles away, where guests can board the NYM steam train - sit back and enjoy the stunning scenery as it meanders its way through the Esk Valley into Grosmont and Goathland. Cropton Forest is ideal for cycling and walking enthusiasts, which is just minutes away from the farm. With quaint little villages dotted around the National Park, guests will be spoilt for choice. The ancient port of Whitby is an easy 18-mile drive, with Sandsend a little further along the coastline and a 3-mile stretch of sandy beach joining the two together. Take a step back in time and visit the smugglers coves of Robin Hood’s Bay and Runswick Bay - children will love fossil hunting here. Further south, the elegant seaside town of Scarborough, with a colourful promenade and two sandy bays, is perfect for family days out. For a more sophisticated day out, the minster city of York is an easy 40-mile drive and home to art galleries, museums and theatres. Shop 5 miles, pub and restaurant ½ mile.

Lovely cottage, very well equipped. Only thing that let it down was the non enclosed garden. Not able to let the dogs out on their own as it was onto court yard car park. Lovely place to stay though.

A lovely cottage set in a quiet courtyard this was the ideal location for exploring the Yorkshire Moors. Well equipped and very clean with everything you could want. Plenty to do with everything within easy access, York, Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay all within an hours drive from the cottage, would recommend the Park & Ride for both York and Whitby. Plenty of walks near by with amazing scenery. Would not hesitate to book again.

Shared heating with cottage next door, they had the control panel & we had the very noisy boiler, which was also a bit smelly because of the fuel. My husband also expressed concern about how the electric fire in the living room was installed. Kitchen sink drain - the waste pipe did not go far enough down the outside drain & as a result waste washing up water ran over the flower bed & gravel rather than going down the drain. On the plus side a very quite location to recharge the batteries & very handy for many tourist attractions.
