Traditional Welsh cottage, with stone floors, beams, stone feature fireplace and woodburner, close to Whistling Sands and Aberdaron.

This pair of pretty stone cottages, thought to date back to the 1800s are set near the tip of the Lleyn Peninsula. The drive to the holiday cottages is delightful, miles of sea and fantastic countryside. Set about a mile away from the beaches and coves, one of the most popular bathing spots of the Lleyn Peninsula. ’Whistling sands’ is little more than a mile and equal distance is the popular resort of Aberdaron with its shops and eating houses. Cyll y Felin Fawr 1 boasts a welcoming coal fire and Cyll Y Felin Fawr 2 is ideal for children, the low attic bedroom being a great hideaway. All other resorts of the Lleyn Peninsula are within easy driving distance such as Abersoch and Pwllheli as is the Snowdonia Mountain Range. Shop and pub 1½ miles.

We loved our stay but I have to say the cottage was really cold. I didn't interfere with the heating settings and perhaps I should have since a fuel supplement is required but it should have been on all day. Used the logs easily but didn't buy more as I was already leaving the fuel supplement. Apart from this it was lovely. Batteries in remote were dead which was frustrating, but cottage is great and turned out to be next door to one we stayed in 18 years ago. Incredible coincidence. Will be back for sure.

We throughly enjoyed our stay at this superb cottage. It was very very clean with lovely furnishings. We thought it a lovely gesture to leave logs for us and as it was a late holiday we were very appreciative of how warm the cottage was. Would definitely stay again and recommend to friends and relatives.

The cottage was lovely, just needs sharper knifes! And few other little bits. But that really did not affect the hoilday.

We enjoyed our stay, cottage needs a little bit of tlc before letting out. Kitchen needed a clean, cupboards and work benches were dirty. But it had everything we needed. Bathroom and groundfloor bedroom needs good clean, cobwebs! Shower temperamental. Bedding spotlessly clean, loved the log burner. All in all nice holiday let.

Thank you for your comments. I was very shocked to read this review, especially as it seems to contradict the comments left in the guest book. The property, including the worktops, was cleaned prior to this guest’s arrival. The cottage is old and occasionally cobwebs may appear overnight. Regarding the shower, the electrician has been to the property and the problem has now been fixed. Thank you for bringing the issue to our attention. It is a shame these concerns were not raised at the time as I would have done my utmost to resolve them.
