"A truly magical estate to escape to and unwind..."

High in the Devon hills above the Taw/Torridge estuaries Webbery Manor Estate is an oasis of rural tranquillity. Steeped in history and with several noteworthy owners, Webbery Manor Estate was first mentioned in the Doomsday Book. It was given to Nicholas the Crossbowman, by a grateful William the Conqueror as a Saxon manor. In the 17th century it passed to the Lippincott family, one of whom set sail with the Mayflower flotilla to settle in America. In the 18th century, John Cutcliffe, the grandson of the owner, fought at the battle of Waterloo and was personally promoted by the Duke of Wellington.
Set in 30 acres of parkland and woods, with grazing sheep, deer, owls, pheasant, birds of prey and other wildlife. The delightful gardens have numerous specimen trees and banks of rhododendrons giving a spectacular spring display. While the organic walled kitchen gardens grow some more unusual varieties of vegetables to the UK. You will find Romanesco, Cavelo Nero, and Pink Fir Apple potatoes to name a few, all complimentary subject to season and availability.
The upper wings of the Coach House have been converted into two elegant apartments, one of which is Cutcliffe Chambers. Accessed via a central oak staircase, the entrance hall is flooded with light from the belvedere atop the roof, and the panoramic window above the stairs. The charming sitting/dining room has period Regency style furniture, grand piano and triple aspect windows giving views over the walled garden, parkland and towards Exmoor. he luxury doesn’t stop there the double bedroom has Victorian brass bedstead, and lovely Chinoiserie cupboard and wood floors. While the twin bedroom has period French beds, wood floors and en-suite bathroom with walk in shower.
Explore the local countryside with the Webbery Wood Walk, a beautiful walk through a wooded gorge. Follow the footpath down into a gorge, through woods, past fishing lakes and streams, and back to Webbery Manor. Fishing and horse riding can be found within 5 miles. Shops and pubs 5 miles.

It was such an amazing flat and covered all my expectations. The only issue I experienced was our double bed was very small and uncomfortable.
