Our fourth stay and each time we relaxed and enjoyed its peaceful and picturesque setting. Great location for walking and visiting historic sites and thriving towns along the Kennet & Avon Canal. Excellent hosts who could not have done more - perhaps some equipment might need to be augmented (eg smaller tea/coffee beakers). However the lodge met all our needs. Strongly recommend to all cottagers.

Lovely cottage so clean and comfy, and the outlook onto wally the donkey and sunny the pony was ideal, there is an enclosed outdoor space but it is very small without any grass, just gravel, but at least its something.we enjoyed our week here, very much, luckily we had great weather, and also a very nice touch to have some foodie things left for us when we arrived, good base for exploring the towns around us.

Very cold on arrival, Unable to get heating to work, very friendly owner also unable to.Once sorted it was lovely and warm.A couple of issues e.g windows dirty, particularly patio doors where dogs had been sniffing,a real mess .

Response on behalf of the Owner; If we have fallen short I do apologise. However I am so disappointed by your review as I do not think it is a fair reflection. As I explained the boiler was serviced the day before you arrived and the engineer did not turn it back on. Although I was not technically minded I immediately called my husband and by the time you had unpacked, the cottage was warm. This was no more than an hour. In respect of the dog nose mark, I did miss this but in fairness you had to be on your hands and knees to see this. I am incredibly house proud and all earlier reviews do reflect this.

We enjoyed our stay at Curlew Cottage. It was very good value for money and we would definitely stay there again. The owner was very helpful and quickly rectified a problem with a tap in the bathroom that we reported.

We received a warm welcome from the owners and the welcome pack of bread, milk, eggs etc was very much appreciated after our long journey. The lodge is in a very peaceful location, it is well equipped and extremely comfortable, we found it an ideal base to return to after busy days exploring the surrounding area. We particularly enjoyed watching the horses on site, the three bulls in an adjoining field and the attention of an adorable donkey. We would be happy to return if in the area again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend.
