Boasting an open fire and enclosed garden with views, this cottage is situated down a quiet lane in the pretty village of Goathland.

Curlew Cottage is part of the historic ‘Orchards’, an exclusive group of cottages hidden away down a quiet, private lane on the edge of Goathland village. The attached, south-facing cottage stands within lovely, mature gardens with a delightful terrace and barbecue house. From almost every room there are panoramic views over adjoining farmland towards the moors and dales of the National Park. Discover the pretty villages of the Esk or explore the market towns of Helmsley, Malton and Kirkbymoorside. Whitby and the Heritage coastal towns of Runswick Bay, Robin Hood’s Bay and Staithes are all within a ½-hour drive. Ride the steam railway from the village station and enjoy some of the best walking and biking in the North York Moors. Dalby Forest, with its renowned cycle tracks, is a 15-minute drive away. The cottage is a short walk from the centre of the village where there is a post office, local shops and good pubs, where you can try a pint of real ale before dinner. Shops 500 yards.

A beautiful and spacious cottage perfectly located at the end of a quiet lane in Goathland making for a great base to explore the Moors and North Yorks Railway whilst being walkable to pubs/Goathland. Rooms were nicely sized with comfortable beds. As mentioned by others, parking could be tight for larger vehicles but owners were happy to accommodate an extra car on their land during our stay. Only disappointment was a lack of sufficient heating in the kitchen and dining areas to cope with the recent cold snap, and which would dissuade us from booking outside of summer months.

lovely cottage and gardens downstairs window didnt open and one of the bedroom doors did not latch shut .A bit of a hassle to turn the car round at the end of the lane This all I suppose added to the character .It is well worth paying a visit ,I managed to get a picture of one of the squirrels looking through the dining room window. I wanted to book again, every single week of 2016 booked or its not on holiday let next year. Did have a slight prob the cottage was listed as detached but was sorted and we really enjoyed the stay and felt privileged to be able to stay in such a nice a better tv would be nice ;-0

Very relaxing location. The house would be further improved by a larger bed in the master bedroom
