As on previous occasions, a real delight to stay in this cosy cottage, in such a wonderful position and with a really friendly and caring owner. The position of this cottage far exceeds that of any other at which we have stayed over many years if changing picturesque countryside and all the joys of watching natural and farm life at close quarters are the things you are looking for. The proximity to Hawes with all its amenities and easy access to local dales and Lake District, or indeed to rather more distant destinations like York, Durham, Settle Carlisle railway and such like are added bonuses.

Another wonderful stay in a really delightful Dales cottage, where we could enjoy sitting and watching the farm animals and wildlife in the field behind the cottage and glorious fell scenery beyond that, whatever the weather, when we wanted a break from touring around the Pennine heights to visit well known places like Tan Hill Pub and less known novelties like a temperance inn selling unusual and quite delicious soft drinks and home cooked food. An interesting mix of balmy spring-like weather and decidedly wintery frosts and blizzards (not quite expected in May, even up there) just served to add to the delights.
