Description

This charming cottage with a balcony and a woodburner is a perfect year round location, ideal for exploring mid and south Wales.

Cuckoo Springs Cottages are just 4 miles from beautiful, unspoilt beaches, the Pembrokeshire/Cardigan coastal path, quaint seaside villages and smugglers’ coves. St David’s and Tenby to the south, and New Quay and Aberaeron to the north are just a little further afield. The three cottages (refs ONA, OWS and OWT) are situated on the owner’s smallholding and guests can experience the ‘good life’, help with their rare breed animals, meet the pet pig Ollie and let Sam, one of the horses, take guests for a pony and trap ride. Alternatively, enjoy the peace and tranquillity of this secluded wooded valley, and simply relax in the large garden or stroll through the owner’s bluebell woods and enjoy stunning views across the valley. The cottages date back to the 1700s, are decorated in a comfortable, country farmhouse style and all have wood-burning stoves. Bluebell Cottage and Orchid Cottage have a bathroom and en-suite shower room, making them ideal for families or two couples sharing. Bluebell Cottage also has a large four-poster bed and Juliet balcony, perfect for that romantic break. Champagne, chocolates and a pampering spa session can all be arranged for that special occasion. Free range eggs and home produced meat are often available, and there is plenty of space for dogs to run free, with delightful walks straight from the door. Shop 1 mile, pub within 1 mile.

Part of an 18th-century converted stone barn, this charming cottage is full of history with its balcony, exposed stonework and beams signed and dated 1782. The living space is light, airy and upstairs to take advantage of the lovely views over the paddock and woodland. Double bedroom with four-poster bed and en-suite shower room with deluge shower and toilet. Twin bedroom. Bathroom with over-bath shower and toilet. First floor: Beamed living/dining room with exposed stone walls, wood-burning stove, balcony and beamed kitchen.

Owners very friendly full or helpful local knowledge, youngest daughter got to see farm animals close up and loved feeding the pigs. The little white one spent loads of time near her and even wanted to go for a walk with our dog. If you love walking and enjoy the views (I love watching the birds of prey) you will love staying here. The pace of village life is great, even i stopped checking my phone for work emails.

Fabulous time was had by all. The cottage was superb, clean, cosy and perfect. Our nearly 4 year old loved the free range pigs and taking in the horses at night. Nothing was too much for our lovely hosts and we will be going back.

Arrived to a warm and friendly welcome by Mike and Julie. Taken to Bluebell cottage where a wonderful welcome pack of Bread, milk, tea, coffee, homemade scones, butter and jam, Left to settle in then shown around by our hosts on the farm to meet the animals and a walk through the woods. Beaches are a must to visit, Poppit Sands, Mwnt, Aberporth to name a few. Fish and chips a must from Aberporth to sit and watch the sunset(thank you Mikr and Julie) A truly stunning and beautiful location for a relaxing and peaceful holiday made again by a wonderful set of hosts in Mike and Julie, nothing is to much trouble.

The cottage is beautiful, in an idyllic setting. The farm environment is perfect for all ages and Julie and Mike are only too happy to show you the animals and grounds. Upon arrival, Julie took us up into the woods to stretch our legs after the journey. Sasha, our dog, appreciated that. We were them showed around the cottage and presented with a welcome pack of tea, coffee, sugar, milk, butter, bread, jam and Welsh cakes - A lovely touch! Our stay was very relaxing. My son loved the area from a photographic perspective too. I look forward to returning. Thanks Julie and Michael for being so welcoming!

Excellent hosts nothing was too much trouble even a hamper of goodies were there on our arrival. It would be a good place to take children as they have animals there and the hosts are more than willing to let you see them. Would definitely stay there again

Lovely cottage, lovely area! Mike and Julie were brilliant hosts and our little boy loved meeting the piglets! Cosy and clean, and in a great location, we would recommend this cottage to anyone. A cot, high chair and stair gate were provided which was brilliant because it meant we didn't have to lug our own stuff there! It's within easy reach of beaches, pretty seaside towns, and the main A roads if you want to go further afield. We hope to be back soon!
