From a touch of luxury to characterful heritage, experience one of our truly inspiring holiday properties.

Enjoy the best of both worlds, this cottage is situated in the countryside, yet is only 2 miles from the Yorkshire coast.

"Charming cottages situated in a scenic holiday location, which form an ideal base from which to explore the stunning scenery of the North Yorkshire Coast..."

Killerby Old Hall and its 7 cottages are ideal for a countryside holiday whilst being less than 2 miles from the beach of Cayton Bay. Guests can enjoy the nature reserve and lake area, or relax in the indoor heated swimming pool. The accommodation ranges from the Old Hall, sleeping 10 in period splendour, through to cosy Crow’s Nest which sleeps 2. Set in a pretty courtyard, each cottage is different yet has its own sitting-out area with patio furniture and BBQ.
Killerby Old Hall is situated between the coastal resorts of family friendly Filey, with its cobble landing and pretty promenade, and Scarborough, with its vibrant South Bay and naturally picturesque North Bay, located on part of Britain’s heritage coast. The Stephen Joseph Theatre, famed throughout the county, puts on a number of Alan Aykbourn productions. To the north, across the stunning North Yorkshire Moors, lies the port of Whitby; famous for its connections to Captain James Cook and Dracula. Robin Hood’s Bay, a former fishing village with a smugglers past, has quaint streets which lead visitors to a small, sandy cove and rock pools. Heading inland, find the historic market town of Pickering, where the famous North Yorkshire Moors steam train begins its journey. Access Dalby Forest through the attractive village of Thornton-le-Dale and be sure to stop for an ice cream. The forest offers a range of activities including mountain bike tracks, or for those feeling adventurous there is Go Ape. It is also a popular picnic destination which is surrounded by walks that the whole family can enjoy. Travel a little further afield to Castle Howard with its stunning house and grounds. The ancient, Roman walled city of York sits just an hour up the A64, a famously haunted city with many attractions such as the railway museum, river trips and excellent shopping. To the south along the coast, the Cleveland Way leads to dramatic Flamborough Head and the Bempton RSPB Sanctuary. The village of Cayton is a 500 yard stroll, with its pub, post office and shop. Full amenities are just over 4 miles away in Scarborough. Shop and pub 500 yards.

This delightful studio-style cottage has been converted from a former stable. Open-plan living room with double height ceiling and a fully equipped kitchen/dining area. Patio doors lead to a paved terrace area overlooking the orchard. Shower room with toilet. Open-tread pine stairs to a small galleried double bedroom.

The cottage had everything you could think off and a lovely welcome pack which was really appreciated. The sofa was only a two seater. I would rather loose the small armchair and have a bigger sofa. It was extremely hot in the bedroom even with the velux windows open. It was conveniently located for the washing machine and the pool. And the house keeper was extremely helpful.

Within 1hr of arriving we discovered that there was no hot water to the kitchen sink, I went to find the caretaker who said she would come and look, she tried the hot water tap in the kitchen sink and confirmed that, there was no hot water, she said that because it was good Friday and a bank holiday weekend that she would be unable to get it repaired before Tuesday. I found this to be a poor excuse, you can get any trades person out 24/7 365days a year the only trouble is that you have to pay them, and being either the owner or owners agent you have a duty of care to provide this, owing to the fact that they had already been paid for the accomidation, we saw no sight of her or anyone else for the 3 days we were there.

Response on behalf of the Owner; Further to your visit we are pleased you found our cottage to be very clean and in a good location, thanks. My wife (the owner) came to see you and found it was true that turning on the kitchen tap gave only a cold flow. However she also tried the bathroom tap next door which did run hot, and if you then turned on the kitchen tap so did that! You seemed to be happy that you did have hot water and at no time were left without. My wife did say that as it was Easter weekend we would not be able to get anyone out which is true in a semi-rural area like ours. She also offered to relocate you but you did not wish to do so. I personally spoke to both of you on at least 6 occasions when you were either going in or out and at no time did you mention any dissatisfaction, because if you had we would have always tried to rectify it immediately. With regard to cost you had indeed paid our booking agents for the accommodation and our duty of care was fully complied with.
