The Lodge made a perfect base to spend an enjoyable few days with friends walking the surrounding area. A good quality, well equipped and very clean cottage. Definitely would recommend and stay again.

I was disappointed. The place could be very nice but needed tidying up, decorating and attention to detail addressing. For example there were light bulbs missing, the clock did not work, there were no keys to access the patio areas, there was no bbq, the fire was for display only, the freezer has a dent in it, the wooden flooring was tatty and in need of repair, the blinds in the kitchen needed mending and the place needed a paint. We did not realize but the adjoining property was part of the same property effectively as one house and not done out as say flats with proper sound proofing. This made it like going on holiday with other people, we could hear everything they were doing; talking, the tv and going to the toilet which didn't impress us or our dog who barked at them every time they came home or ran up and down the stairs. There was little by way of up to date literature in the accommodation. On a positive note the beds were comfy, the place was clean (apart from the crisps we found down the side of the sofa) and there was a nice welcome pack awaiting us. There were nice walks behind the house onto the moors but you had to figure that out yourself as there was no information about them. The location was good for days out and the town had good amenities.

    Response from: Administrator

Response on behalf of the owner; The Lodge at Crow Hill is described as Ground Floor only accommodation. The accommodation on the first floor is only 3 bedrooms, without any kitchen or lounge facilities, no TV’s are included within any of the accommodation on the first floor. This accommodation is only used for overflow for one of the other larger properties and it is very rarely used. The Lodge has excellent sound proofing, as it was originally 2 apartments and this is the first time comments of this nature have been received. The Lodge has also just undergone a full redecoration throughout, as it is one of the busiest properties on the estate, decorations and upgrades are planned regularly. The Lodge has also just had some new furniture for example large sofas, new kettle and toaster added etc. Light bulbs and batteries may fail whilst guests are staying but we do check these at every service. We will of course, review all aspects reviewed. During the winter and early spring months, the BBQ is stored away, however, our contact number is detailed in the property information folder, which is located in the book case with up to date literature on the property and surrounding areas, including walks locally, and on request, we could have of course, supplied the BBQ. The fire place is fully functional and has an on/off button located in the top. The keys for the patio doors are located in the property, but may have been moved by a previous guest. All of the above could have been easily resolved and most guests do call if they have any queries. We appreciate that these aspects have been brought to our attention and we will remedy immediately.
