very well appointed only two things we could complain about was the low ceiling in the bedroom had to be careful getting out of bed and T.V. reception was intermitant . the owners were very nice and welcoming enjoyed our stay very much

Crafters barn is clean comfortable and warm. Watch out for the sloping ceilings upstairs especially if you are tall. The pack of cream tea, milk and flowers was very welcoming. The only downside is the information pack could be a bit more explicit (as we took our small dog, there was no information as to where we put doggy waste). Also the TV signal is very hit and miss (no BBC channels all week).

Beautiful setting. One of the cleanest properties we have ever stayed in. Lovely friendly welcome with treats and towel for our dog. Lovely little pig living in the garden!

An absolutely delightful cottage in the most beautiful location; incredibly quiet and peaceful with lovely views. Every thing we needed was there including a most welcome cream tea on arrival. We were perfectly warm and comfortable in spite of unseasonably cold and wet weather. We'd intended to walk on Dartmoor but instead were very well placed to get to various National Trust properties including the stunning little Lydford Gorge just 4 miles away and other places in Cornwall like the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan, where we could get out of the wind and dodge the showers. The countryside was beautiful and I've never seen so many bluebells. Our only regret was that it was too cool to sit out on the patio or use the swing bench overlooking the valley when we got home to Crofter's Barn after a day out. We self catered and managed to pick up food for the evening on our days out which was useful as the fridge was quite small and had a tiny icebox rather than a freezer so little room to store anything frozen. The nearest large supermarket, Morrisons, was on the other side of Tavistick (about 6 miles away).

Crofter's Barn was everything that we expected based on the description withy no real negatives to mention. Our only comment is regarding the TV reception being somewhat variable on certain stations, this may or may not be important to people, but possibly the addition of Freesat would be a consideration for the owners to remove this issue? We have booked this cottage again for another break later this year.
