In a quiet side street, this substantial refurbished detached house offers an excellent holiday base for touring Perth, Blairgowrie, Glamis Scone and Pitlochry being within easy reach. The Perthshire town of Coupar Angus lies in the valley of Strathmore. The area is rich in castles, country houses and museums. For the outdoor enthusiast the choice includes many lovely golf courses, good walking, river and loch fishing. Shop, pub and restaurant 150 yards.

Ground floor: Living room. Dining room/kitchen. 1 double bedroom. Separate toilet. Galleried floor: Bathroom with shower over bath and toilet. First floor: 2 bedrooms: 1 double (four poster) with en-suite shower room and toilet, 1 twin. Attic room with play area and pool table.

    Spent a week at Croft bank with my husband, elderly parents, son 16 yrs and our 2 yr dog Seamus. The property was clean and comfortable and was a great base for exploring Perthshire. The cottage had a gated back garden which was ideal for the dog. The owners' had recently added wi fi much to the relief of my son and the signal was good. The television however is freeview and at times the reception wasn't great but it still didn't interrupt our viewing. Plenty of hot water and the cottage was warm with the added bonus of a gas fire in the lounge area. The kitchen is well stocked but the oven can cook food too quickly so you have to be vigilant. There is no dishwasher - but this wasn't a problem either as I had brought my husband!! The nice thing about this cottage is that little items you tend to forget had been supplied.

    Spent Christmas 2017 there and had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay there with our two dogs. Would definitely stay there again.

    Fabulous cottage with everything you could want. Beautifully clean and very comfortable. Had a fantastic week here and would definitely go again!

    Although the cottage was nice the picture is totally deceptive as it is in the block of buildings with no view whatsoever and down a small backstreet alley. The area has a food processing plant nearby and therefore has a constant unpleasant smell, like rotting food all the time. Also there needs to be some essential repairs done on the kitchen draws, the oven needs cleaning big time or the thermostat needs repairing, as everytime we tried to use it black smoke would come from it and it would just burn the food. Also my husband had to keep repairing the curtains in the master bedroom on-suite as they kept coming off the track. However, the owners were nice people and had made a batch of scones which they left for us, along with some biscuits for our dog. The bedlinen was clean and there was a plentiful supply of towels and teatowels.

    Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your review of your visit to Croftbank. We note that you feel the picture of our property that appears on the Welcome Cottages site is deceptive. However, having reviewed the photograph, together with the written description, we do not feel that either are in any way misleading. The property is a detached house with other properties nearby but not in a “block of buildings” and is situated in a quiet back street not an “alley”. Albeit there are no picturesque views - but no views are alluded to in the property description. Indeed many of our guests have commented favourably on the quiet location of our property. With regard to the ‘unpleasant smell’ emanating from the nearby food processing factory – unfortunately this is an issue with which the whole town is unhappy and it is the subject of ongoing debate between SEPA and the processing plant operators; however the problem is regrettably out with our control. At certain times the prevailing weather conditions can aggravate the problem, and this may have been the case during your visit. We are sorry that you encountered a number of “maintenance” issues during your stay – although we check the property on a weekly basis it is not always possible to pick up on every issue, and to some extent we rely on our quests to let us know if they have any problems. Our contact numbers are displayed in the house and we encourage guests to complete a feedback form commenting on their stay in the house – it is a pity you didn’t avail yourselves of either of these options, we would have been happy to address the issues for you. The problem with the kitchen drawer was highlighted by the guests staying in the property after you and was quickly resolved. Having now been made aware of a possible problem with the oven and the curtain track in the en suite, these issues will be checked and remedied as soon as possible.
