Customers’ Choice Award 2018
This single-storey, detached holiday cottage is situated amongst a stunning mountain backdrop and dramatic scenery.

In a quiet rural setting in the heart of historic Glencoe, this cosy, single-storey, detached cottage has been tastefully restored. With views of the surrounding mountains, and a short walk to the shores of Loch Leven, this is an ideal location for exploring the west coast of Scotland. The area is renowned for its abundant wildlife and its breathtaking scenery, which has been used as the backdrop for many famous films including ’Harry Potter’, ’Rob Roy’ and ’William Wallace’. From Fort Willliam, known as the ’outdoor capital of the UK’, you can travel on the Jacobite Steam Train, or catch the Mountain Gondola to the top of Aonoch Mor. The small bustling town of Oban, the ’gateway to the Isles’, has regular ferries from the harbour to the inner Isles, including Mull and Iona. Glencoe and Fort William both have ski resorts and are also very popular areas for climbers and walkers. Crossing on the Ferry at Corran will allow you to explore the Ardnamurchan Peninsula, with its rocky coastline and white sandy beaches. Take the ’road to the Isles’ and visit the beautiful Isle of Skye. Cycling and mountain biking is one of the main outdoor activities and attractions in the Glencoe and Lochaber area. Both the Glencoe Mountain and Nevis Range ski centres have developed downhill mountain bike tracks which are used in amatuer and international, professional level competition. Croft cottage also sits on the Glencoe orbital and the Glencoe to Oban cycle paths, which are aimed at family level cycling. Bike hire is also available in Glencoe village a few hundred metres from the cottage. Other activities include kayaking, golf, horse riding, snowboarding, bird watching and fishing, or excellent indoor climbing at Kinlochleven. There are plenty of gentle forest walks, museums, distilleries, castles, gardens and monuments nearby, with Glencoe village also offering shops and a museum. Shop 200 yards, pub and restaurant 650 yards.

Very thoughtful and considerate touches, such as: milk in the fridge and biscuits for the dog when we arrived. Immaculately clean throughout with very high spec equipment and decoration. A good enclosed garden for our dog. One of the best places we have ever stayed in. We would love to stay again. A real home from home, which we would highly reccomend.

Nicely modernised house in a central location. Plenty of parking space for four cars. Midges permitting, we enjoyed sitting out in the back garden at the pinic table. Enough chairs etc for local friends to come and visit.

Croft Cottage is a beautiful property set in an amazing location, with uninterrupted views of the Glencoe hills from the back garden. The cottage itself is in great condition and is comfortable, really well equipped and cosy. It's super dog friendly, with a fenced off garden and even dog towels and treats waiting for the arrival of our nutty Spaniel. There is a chicken coop next to the garden, but as long as your dog isn't likely to jump the 4ft fence then it's all good! There are walks accessible from the front door, or it's 10 mins drive to access the mountains of Glen Coe and about 30 mins to Fort William. There's a CoOp 5 mins away in Ballachulish and a local shop 100yards down the road. The Glencoe Gathering is 10 mins walk away for a decent beer and good food. We'd definitely return. 10/10. Thanks to Linda and Simon for a great stay. Si & Siobhan, March 2017.
