We were very disappointed that the cottage is on top of a very steep hill with lots of steps that were covered over in stones and moss. I ended up cleaning them . The cottage was nice just daft things needing doing , there is no light in bathroom over the sink and mirror and it’s vertualy impossible to see what you are doing . If that was fixed I think it would be great for a young fit family but a warning should be put in advertising for any one with disabilities or elderly it’s difficult to get in or out , the step from the path to the entrance is over 16”

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner- Sorry you were disappointed. There is a light over them mirror and a black sticker saying press here for light. With regard the position of the lodge it does say in the descriptions that it may not be suitable for some elderly. We are selves are elderly and manage quite well. I hope this didn’t spoil your holiday.

The idea was nice feeling like staying in a tree house but in reality it was dark with no sunlight and damp. The cottage is in need of updating. The area however is beautiful and close to lots of places of interest.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner- Sorry you thought the lodge needed up dating and was damp. We have recently put in a new neff double oven and new working surfaces. With regards the damp I checked it out last week when I stayed in Crinkle and didn’t find anything damp. I can only assume may have been due to extensive rain in the lakes. I hope you enjoyed your holiday. Crinkle is in a beautiful part of the lakes.

Great little cabin. Loved the birds. Clean, well equipped, perfect for a small family
