Third visit to this cottage. The weather was perfect as was the holiday. The deli in the village is excellent and the meals at the Kings Arms very good. Cottage is very comfortable and close to local amenities. Parking in the village was not a problem this year although we have had difficulty in the past. Only critisms, the bath is awkward to get in as an older person. The DVD on the tv was rather temperamental

A beautiful cosy cottage in a quiet location situated in Askrigg. Very clean with good facilities and wood burning stove. Very comfortable bed and good powerful shower. Askrigg has a fabulous cafe/small deli called the Humble Pie which sells fabulous cakes! Ate at The Kings Arms twice & the food was plentiful & delicious. Loads of walks from the cottage so no need to move the car.

Lovely cottage in a great little village with plenty of pubs and a good bakery cafe. Handy for walks and central in the Dales. The double bed is a metal frame and creaks so if you're a light sleeper wouldn't advise staying here. Obviously this is not a problem for everyone! We did find dirty dishes in the dishwasher on arrival but just an oversight as all else very clean and well equipped.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Many thanks for staying with us and we are pleased you enjoyed the cottage and the area. We are sorry that you found dirty dishes in the dishwasher, (as you pointed out an oversight) however we will take particular care to check the machine in the future. The double bed has since been replaced by a larger king size bed, without any squeaks! Thanks for your feedback, it is valued. We are so pleased that you found everything else to your liking.

It's a really nice cottage with a amazing, breathtaking countryside. We met a welcoming food basket and very friendly and be concerned owners. Free laundry service is offered, nevertheless we missed a washing machine. Recommendable cottage.
