Cragnowe is a quirky cottage in a great location. Not much nearby - there is a local pub but nearest shops etc are over 3 miles away. The cottage is well heated for anyone staying in the colder months. It does lack a washing machine so wouldn’t stay for more than a week here. Kitchen is basic - we missed the lack of an oven glove! Our stay was marred by a wasps nest nearby which plagued us in the house for the time we were there. Nevertheless it’s a quirky cottage which is in a great location with lots of wildlife nearby not to mention the sheep at the bottom of the garden.

Response on behalf of the owner:- Thank you so much for your custom at Cragknowe. We are so pleased you enjoyed the location, the wildlife and the local pub, there is certainly a lot to see. We are sorry you were bothered by the summer wasps whilst you were there, it's the first wasp problem we've ever had and the experts have now dealt with it. We were delighted to welcome you and hope to see you again soon.

This is a great cottage in a brilliant location. Peaceful and relaxing, yet in fairly easy reach of things to do. Walks on the doorstep.

The views from the cottage and were amazing. The cottage had everything we needed and the children loved all the toys and games. The best thing though was sitting in the conservatory with a glass of wine watching the barn owls in the field below!

Lovely week. Nice quiet cottage. Beautiful view, and interesting wildlife. Barn owls can be seen in the fields below and even landed on the roof. Take midge repellant in summer.

Cragknowe is a wonderful place to get away from it all and appreciate the beauty and splendour of the countryside. The views are breath taking and you can enjoy them while relaxing inside through the many panoramic windows. The terrace was a sun trap and it was heaven sat out there with only the sound of the wildlife and the magnificent view. You can't get away from the view and you wouldn't want to. That in itself is worth a visit. The accommodation is modern and comfy in a quiet and private location. Only a 10 min drive to the market town of Bellingham for shops and petrol. We couldn't get a phone signal but there is free wifi, which never cut out and gave us the opportunity to phone via facebook and there is a landline with an honesty box if needed. The location of the cottage is great for walks and is central and a great base for many places of interest and attractions. The sheep in the field next to the cottage kept us entertained and we spotted many birds and rabbits and a pheasant came to see us at the same time every night. The place is amazing. The only negative I can think of is the cooking facilities, which didn't impact on us too much, just something to get used to. The kitchen is pretty compact with not much workspace and I missed not having a measuring jug, sieve and oven glove , but was getting used to the space and was more organised towards the end of the week. We would definitely come again, in fact I would love to live here and highly recommend this property and area. You won't be disappointed!!

Excellent cottage in good, remote location (what we wanted). Local pub (10 min walk) served great ales and had good, reasonably priced food. Great place to lesve the 'rat race' behind.
