Description

Wonderful lodge amidst stunning countryside with wonderful walks from the door, and Offas Dyke nearby.

These two lodges are located in the tranquil village of Felindre, amidst the stunning countryside that Mid-Wales boasts. Both are ground floor lodges and offer a great holiday base from which to explore this beautiful area. A haven for walkers with wonderful walks direct from the doorstep, as well as Offas Dyke, Britain’s longest archaeological monument, built in the 8th century to mark the boundary between Wales and England, and Glyndwe’s Way, a national trail, running through Mid-Wales, from Knighton on the English border to Machynlleth on the Dovey Estuary, and then on to Welshpool on the English border. Activities such as cycling, fishing and golfing can all be found in the surrounding areas. A fabulous location for bird watchers with many Red Kite feeding centres to be found. Within easy driving distance of both the charming market town of Newtown and Knighton with its many individual shops. Crabtrees (ref. W42483) and Fairoaks (ref. W42484) can be booked together.

All on ground floor: Living/dining room/kitchen with wooden floor. 1 double bedroom. Shower room with toilet.

Electric heaters, gas, electricity, bed linen and towels included. Travel cot. High chair. Freeview TV. DVD. Gas hob. Electric halogen heater oven. Shared use of owners’ washing machine and tumble dryer. Sitting-out area and furniture. Barbecue. Ample parking. No smoking.

Very much enjoyed our stay at Crabtrees and our providers were the perfect hosts, welcoming and friendly, never intrusive but nothing was too much trouble. Their local knowledge was invaluable. They were even prepared to pen up the sheep so our dog could run free in the meadow. The log cabin was snug and comfy, even in March, and extremely well equipped, apart from the absence of coat hangers! The only drawback was that because the weather had been very wet we could not drive onto the meadow but there is a dry path round the edge of the grass area. They even provided a bed for the dog which he used even though he had his own bed with us! Altogether a lovely break and we got to explore a lot of mid Wales

We had a week's stay here with our 17 month old daughter. We all really enjoyed the stay and the surroundings were beautiful and very peaceful. There is outdoor seating where we enjoyed sitting out in the sun. Great views, very quiet, our daughter loved the sheep behind the cabin and loved running round in the field. The owners are very friendly and very helpful indeed. The cabin was very nice and cozy, and we didn't need to switch on the TV as we were outdoors so much! The Elan Valley reserviours are well worth a day trip! For people with a baby/toddler -just note the travel cot fitted into the bedroom ok but be aware you can't use the wardrobe when it's there (however there is a chest of drawers, but we live out of our suitcases anyway!)
