Hoseasons Cottages

Relax and unwind in a Hoseasons cottage. Wherever you choose to stay our aim is to ensure you have a wonderful holiday experience every step of the way.

Courtyard Cottage has scenic views over the Border country, and is close to Kelso and Floors Castle, with Berwick easily reached.

The 200 acres of glorious parkland surrounding Mellerstain House, one of Scotland’s grandest stately homes, designed and built by William and Robert Adam, provide a wonderful setting for these three delightful cottages (S4166, S4568 & S4569). Visitors are welcome to roam the grounds including the fabulous Italian-style terraced gardens which command panoramic views over the lake to the distant Cheviot Hills. The scenic and historic attractions of the Border country are all close at hand and the beaches of Berwick and Holy Island are also easily accessible. Kelso (6 miles) offers shops, inns and restaurants and is home of Floors Castle and the famous Kelso Horse Races, whilst Edinburgh, with its magnificent castle, museums, galleries and excellent shopping, is only a 35 mile drive. Fly fishing can be arranged locally, several golf courses are nearby and shops and pubs are just 3.5 miles away. Beautifully appointed and very comfortable, these three properties offer a unique holiday opportunity. West Lodge, ref S4166, is a charming 18th-century stone cottage enjoying its own garden with splendid views towards the Cheviots. Clock House, ref S4568, has been beautifully converted to a high standard to form part of the Old Clock House dating from the early 18th century. Adjoining the Clock House is Courtyard Cottage, ref S4569, which has also been lovingly converted to a high standard and boasts three en-suite bedrooms. The courtyard coffee shop serves delicious home cooking on ‘house open’ days - and special occasions, large and small can be catered for by arrangement in the state rooms of Mellerstain House. Shop and pub 7 miles.

Excellent cottage and set in the most beautiful surroundings. Very peaceful and great for getting away from it all. Only slight negative is that nearest pub some miles away but only slight negative. Highly recommend for getting away from it all

Amazing place, permission to use grounds is great, lovely walks around lake etc.. Cottage was fab for 3 couples as the 3 bedrooms are all on-suite Hour journey into Edinburgh or Holy Island on coast, both well worth the travelling although Jedburgh and some nearer villages and towns offer places to visit. Floor castle 5 mins away Small disappointments were no DVDs to accompany the DVD player in cottage, the first time, from many, this has happened in a rented holiday cottage for us. Towels were not changed although we stayed for a week. Car has to be parked outside main house and walk back to cottage late at night not lit so remember to take the torches kindly supplied

Everything was clean and in good order. We particularly liked the bathrooms and showers. Everyone we met was helpful and friendly. The gardens were magnificent.
