Cotterton Beag was perfect for our two families to have a holiday together. The house was warm, cosy and very well equipped, with plenty of space for the kids to play.

We had a very enjoyable holiday overall, there were just one or two things which would have made it better. The situation was lovely, a great central location to see everything the area has to offer. The house was spacious and clean, but there was only a tiny bit of washing up liquid left, no dishwasher tablets, no black bags apart from the one already on the bin. Also there were no instructions as to what can be recycled etc,. None of this costs much and would have helped to make us feel more welcome. Also, it is a dog friendly house, but there were instructions not to exercise our dog in the garden. Clearly the previous people had, as they had not cleared up after their dog. This was rather disappointing. This said, the house was clean and well stocked in terms of kitchen equipment etc. One further point, the toilet in the main bathroom overflowed continuously. We adjusted the cistern to stop this happening, but then it wouldn't flush. A plumber may be required to fix this.

Lovely, clean cottage. Shop just a walk down the road. Plenty of walks and wildlife round about.

Great location. Lots of great walks right on your doorstep. Cleanliness could be better. No games, books or dvds to keep kids amused which we have always had in other cottages and tv needs updating. There is no wifi. We spent most of the time outdoors but in the evening with 3 teenagers who wanted to use social media it wasnt ideal. Garden is large and saw plenty of birds coming to the feeders. Driveway is shared with a smaller property next door.

The cottage is in a lovely village, good for walks. The cottage is well situated for lots of attractions within driving range. There were eight of us staying at the cottage, there was plenty of room and space. The owner was friendly and helpful. Our children missed wi-fi but it made them appreciate more valuable things in life such as conversation and appreciation of nature. Our dogs were quite happy in the cottage, the back garden is enclosed so safe for them, the garden also backs onto the forest, we saw a red squirrel while we were there. We had a lovely weeks holiday and would love to go back.

Great warm family house with large gardens. Lots of woodland walks and wildlife. I found the location instructions confusing and couldn't find the house. However, it is on the main road from Aviemore/ Boat of Garten into Nethybridge and is on the right hand side just before the "Nethybridge" place name. It has a large front garden so sits far back off the road.
