Finding the cottage was a bit tricky but once we got there we were delighted. The cottage was impeccable both inside & out, decorated to a high standard but still retaining it's charm. Had every amenity we needed & the owner Mrs Clitheroe was always happy to help or just have a friendly chat. We hope to visit again in the near future.

The cottage is small but well furnished, and comfortable for two - I think it would not really be big enough for three - we were fine having one bedroom each. There is enough storage and excellent light for reading in bed. There is a good modern shower in a spacious cubicle. I was concerned that a small cottage might have steep narrow stairs but this is not the case. The kitchen has all we needed for simple meals (main meals eaten out), the dining table was rather small and awkward but there is not really room for anything bigger. The seating was comfortable and the TV good. Parking was fine and we were able to stop just outside the front door to load and unload.

We enjoyed our stay in this lovely cottage. Only a short drive from good walks and beautiful scenery. Great food at the Royal Oak pub, just up the hill.

This was our third visit. On this occasion our aim was to get up early to be at Sizergh castle to get a view of hawfinches in the castle grounds. We were successful . They appeared at approx 7am . The weather was a mix of snow showers, rain and sunshine totally unpredictable. What was predictable was the comfort of Coronation Cottage.

Our second visit this year was equally as enjoyable as our first. Our aim was to see some of the glorious autumn colour of the trees of the Lakes. We enjoyed spectacular views of the trees in a background of snow covered peaks. The estuaries are now home to a multitude of wading birds. The weather was variable. You need to be dressed for whatever nature throws at you. Nevertheless a very worthwhile experience. It was always nice to return to the comfort of Coronation cottage. MR
