An architect-designed, detached home, in the historic market town of Kington with great walking and cycling on the Mortimer Trail nearby.

Coopers Yard House is an architect-designed, three-storey detached holiday home set in a medieval alley in the centre of the historic market town of Kington. Furnished to a very good standard, offering contemporary open-plan living, with a woodburner for cosy evenings in after wonderful days out exploring the local areas. Kington itself offers independent little shops selling superb food and curiosities and real ale pubs. Nearby is a health suite and just outside the town you may enjoy the Michelin starred Stagg Inn, for fine food. Take in a round of golf at the highest golf course in England or visit the famous Hergest Croft Gardens. Kington is perfectly located for exploring the beautiful Welsh Marches, where the landscape of lush pastures, orchards and chocolate box villages of Herefordshire abruptly meets the rugged Welsh border hills. Great days of walking will be found along Offa’s Dyke and the Mortimer Trail, and is also a fabulous cycling area. Further afield Hay-on-Wye and the Brecon Beacons National Park are about 15 miles by road, the magnificent scenery of the Elan Valley and the Cambrian Mountains will be found about 25 miles away, and Ludlow also within 25 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 200 yards.

    We had a really good holiday with all the family, celebrated my wife's 60th birthday while at the cottage and everything was to our expectation.

    The cottage was lovley, very clean and it had everything we could wish for. The location was perfect, especially if you wanted to do a little walking.

    Overall we enjoyed our stay here, it was a great house for a big group of people. Some of the items in the house were starting to look a little dated, e.g. the kitchen cupboards near heated appliances were starting to peel. Little things did let the property down eg no batteries in the DVD remote, the odd chipped glass or plate. The house could benefit from WIFI, I was surprised that this didn't feature as the rest of the house was to a high standard. In the description it states the house is secure for Pets, the garden could benefit from a side gate to make it fully secure. Small dogs could get under the front gate and therefore we could not just let the dog out in the garden.

We are undertaking some maintenance tasks this winter such as replacing the kitchen cupboard door etc. We have also free wifi installed at the house. The garden is enclosed but we cannot guarantee it is 100% secure.

    Lovely property, a little difficult to access with cars, however this was advised in the details
