Description

The ideal romantic retreat providing comfortable accommodation and splendid views towards the coast. Plenty of outdoor space to play and only one mile from a traditional village pub.

Crockwood Farm is the perfect choice for a relaxing seaside holiday. Nestled within glorious countryside and just 2 miles from the traditional seaside resort of Bude and its many delightful, sandy beaches. With spectacular view across the valley towards the coast and 9 acres of pretty field and woodland walks to enjoy, this tranquil retreat will appeal to all. Each cottage is presented to a very good standard and the playfield located on the top field is great for young and old to let off steam with play equipment and a badminton/volleyball net. The nearby village of Poughill, 1 mile, has a pretty church and popular village inn. Just a short drive from Bude’s historic castle and canal is the vibrant town centre with its vast array of good restaurants and bars, and its glorious sandy beaches and coastal path. In late August Bude is host to the internationally acclaimed annual jazz festival, an event not to be missed. Golf, tennis, horse riding, coastal walking, surfing, indoor ‘Splash’ pool, fishing and mountain boarding are all on offer locally: the list is almost endless so you’ll never be short of things to do! If you can manage to drag yourself away then the pretty fishing villages of Padstow, Port Isaac and Rock are well worth a visit and mystical Tintagel with the legendary King Arthur’s Castle is close by. The wild beauty of Dartmoor, Exmoor and Bodmin Moors is a must for walkers and nature lovers and for a great day out Crealy Adventure Park, Newquay Zoo and the famous Eden Project are all within easy driving distance. For family fun the Big Sheep and Milky Way adventure parks are not to be missed. Shop, pub and restaurant 11/2 miles.

Lovely little cottage, well equipped and cosy. Great setting, close to amenities. Hosts Brian and Debbie can't do enough for you. Cornwall is so beautiful with huge areas of unspoilt countryside.

Absolutely amazing place. Clean, had everything you needed and the photos don't do it justice of just how beautiful it is. The surroundings are pretty amazing too, the view from the from lounge window is stunning. Lovely owners who made you feel really welcome.

Our only criticism is the lack of WiFi which meant we couldn't keep in touch with our son & daughter-in-law & baby granddaughter. Apart from this we really were very happy thank you very much also the directions were very clear & easy to follow.

The cottage was fabulous compact and perfect for 2 people. Debbie and Brian are lovely, friendly people. The grounds and cottage were immaculate. Cream tea on arrival was very welcome. Shame the weather wasn't as nice as the cottage but we did lots of sight seeing. Great holiday in Cornwall.

The Cottage was immaculately cleaned and the owners were so friendly. The cottage is set in 9 acres of land and we were eager to explore, 2 ponds with fish in, pheasants and squirrels putting on a show at breakfast. It was a perfect base for us to explore Cornwall and we would most definetly stay again and I highly recommend Coombe Cottage for a holiday destination.

I had a wonderful holiday, albeit by myself. The owners were welcoming and attentive and I didn't need to ask them for anything. The cottage was warm and comfortable and the grounds lovely. The bed was comfortable in a traditional bedroom with very up-to-date bathroom suite with bath and over-bath shower - both good, and the kitchen though small, modern and well-fitted. If I was in the area again I would definitely stay if possible, maybe longer next time, and my extended family are interested in it too.

Lovely friendly welcome by owners, showed us around the cottage and filled us in on all we needed to know. Bedroom was beautiful, all the space in the cottage was worked out really well for 2 people, very modern place nothing tired about anything, a pleasure to stay here. Great location, you are in Bude in next to no time, good pub 3 mins drive away. We intend to be one of the many repeat visitors in the future ! Thanks for a lovely stay.
