Had an enjoyable time birdwatching around the area but would not recommend the cottage for a winter stay even with the woodburner, kitchen draughty and cold. The cottage would be perfect for a summer stay.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; We were sorry to hear you were cold at the cottage - this has been the first such complaint raised by a visitor. As well as the woodburning stove there are adjustable electric storage heaters upstairs and down and a fan heater built into the kick plate by the fridge. It is operated by the remote control on the cupboard side by the lounge door. There is also a mobile fan heater in the wardrobe in the small bedroom.

We loved the quaintness of the cottage, its cleanliness and local amenities. The mattress on the double bed, however is too old and soft, and the road noise was a bit of a distraction but apart from that we loved it.

This cottage is ideally placed for visiting dog-friendly beaches and for country walks. The village is very attractive with a good shop and pub/restaurant. I found the noise of passing daytime traffic intrusive (double glazing would help). It would also be useful to have more crockery to save having to run the dishwasher only half full.

Cottage was lovely. Was a lovely surprise to find the cottage had wifi, dishwasher, washing machine and dryer. None of these were mentioned in the cottage description. Though if I had known I probably wouldn't have taken so many clothes and bath towels. The back garden was good and secure for our dog.
