Ideal for a rural escape, Cobble lies surrounded by countryside and lies amongst beautiful woodland.

Equidistant from both of Cornwall’s spectacular coastlines and nestling in delightful woodland, these thoughtfully converted barns are set in sunny, pleasantly landscaped gardens, each with its own patio. Retaining all the character and charm of original structural features, including exposed beams and stone walls, they have been furnished in keeping with their rustic simplicity. Tawnawood has a first floor landing and a door to a balcony with wonderful valley views. Peacefully positioned on a private drive beyond the owner’s home, and accessed by a narrow country lane, they enjoy fine views across the valley towards National Trust Lanhydrock House and its formal gardens. Lanhydrock House is 1¼ miles away and features several cycle trails, including a gentle trail for families throughout its grounds and into bluebell woods. There is also cycle hire, free parking and a café. Beaches of both the north and south coasts are about 15 miles away, some popular and offering fishing, sailing and surfing, others small and secluded; the coastal path is a continuous drama of cliff and sea and sky. There is excellent walking in the surrounding area and cycling in Cardinham Woods with dedicated, scenic cycle trails for those wanting more of a challenge, and an excellent café for refreshments. Restormel Castle and Lostwithiel, both 4 miles. Bodmin, 3 miles, has shops, cycle hire, swimming-pool, sports centre, inns, restaurants and golf. Bodmin Steam Railway can be heard in the distance within the valley. Riding locally. Wadebridge and Camel Trail cycle hire 7 miles. Padstow 12 miles, Fowey 10 miles and the Eden Project 8 miles. Shops 3 miles.

Entrance through stable door into open-plan sitting/dining room with sofa-bed (for +2) and fully fitted light-oak kitchen area with breakfast bar. Dining area overlooks landscaped garden and fish pond. Double bedroom (5ft bed). Bathroom with over-bath shower and toilet.

    The cottage wasn't what we had expected. It was damp as the weather was unfortunately very wet during our stay. Also, we hadn't realised how steep the hill was to access the cottages. The cottage was pleasant but not for us really

    A lovely conversion set in idyllic countryside, wonderful for the tranquillity and for the ready access to the rest of Cornwall. The owner was politely hands off but happy to help if needed.

    I would recommend a summer stay not at any other time as heating is poor. Main heater broke down but the landlord replaced it with one that struggled to just take the chill off the room. Mark (Landlord) was helpful and apologised for the heating issues.

    Response on behalf of the owner; I am sorry that the main heater in the living room failed early in the duration of your stay. This issue has now been resolved, the heater being replaced with a new more efficient system. As you may understand, it would not have been possible to address the problem immediately during the week, as the lead time to fit a new heating system was over a week and would cause considerable disruption to change. The cottage is now cosy and warm at any time of year to come back to after enjoying the changing seasons of the woodland/moorland walks and wildlife around the cottages or a 20 minute drive to the north or south coasts.
