Description

This property is located between the coastal resorts of Pendine and Amroth – an ideal touring base for a seaside getaway.

Shared 17-acre grounds with woodland walks

Lying peacefully down a quiet country lane between the bustling coastal resorts of Pendine and Amroth, these traditional Welsh barns (refs 29463, 30251, 30252, 30521 and 30522) have been restored to a very good standard and make a perfect touring base for couples or families looking for a seaside getaway. Situated on a small holding complex with a small farm shop on-site, the former barns dating back to the 18th century retain much of their original charm and character, with each room having comfortable furnishings and amenities for that unforgettable holiday experience. Coastal Wood Holidays received the highest accolade of Gold at the Carmarthenshire Tourism Awards, as awarded by the Tourism Asociation. These properties are nestled between Amroth beach and Pendine Sands in the beautiful Pembrokeshire National Park, with 17 acres of natural grounds and woodland walks, which lead to the spectacular coastal path, where guests can discover the hidden Horseshoe Coves and unblemished tranquil beaches dotted along the coast. The charming village of Amroth is close by, posing a selection of traditional pubs, restaurants, cafes and a sandy beach. Just a stone’s throw away are the picturesque harbour towns of Saundersfoot and Tenby, offering an array of boutique gift shops, art galleries and restaurants with freshly caught fish always on the menu. Explore the off-shore island of Caldey and share the serenity and tranquillity of the Cistercian monks, or take a sea safari along the dramatic coast, cruising close to sea birds, seals and the occasional dolphin. Away from the coast, the rolling countryside is just as promising with its array of traditional market towns dotted around the country including Narberth and Haverfordwest as well as the numerous enchanted sites including Pembroke and Carew Castles. Visit Oakwood, Folly Farm and Bluestone for action packed day out. Dairy Cottage (30523) and The Buttery (30522) have an interconnecting door and can be booked together to sleep 8. Too many creeks from the upstairs and the next cottages. Plus a local dog pee area when it's wet. Everyone was lovely and the cakes we're delightful. Shame about the creeks and thank you for the support you gave me when mum went into hospital on the first night.

We've stayed at quite a few cottages and this one is definitely a nice one. Friendly and helpful hosts, situated five minutes from Amroth beach, has an on-site shop, washing facilities and dvd library and reasonably priced. Only downside was the wi-fi which was shared amongst all the cottages. Sometimes the connection was good but most times it was unresponsive. All in all, a comfortable and enjoyable base to explore south Pembrokeshire.

response on behalf of the owner. Thank you for your review of Keepers Cottage. Its great to know that you enjoyed your stay and liked the cottage. Amroth is one of our favourite places, it's great to be close to such a pretty beach and lovely village. The internet issue has now been resolved. An area wide fault was found on the main Pendine BT exchange. We are sorry for the inconvenience caused. We hope to see you again.

We all loved our two weeks at Keepers Cottage. All enjoyed walking to the dog run and wood for campfires and playing on the tree swing. The shop was great and came in useful most days.

Response on behalf of the owner:- Thank you for awarding your stay in Keepers Cottage 10/10. It is great to know you had a great time exploring this beautiful stretch of coastline. It is great you found our woodland with it's own campfire. Perfect for marshmallow toasting and making popcorn. It was a pleasure meeting you all. We hope to see you again soon.

To be fair I have stayed in better cottages, I felt the downstairs of this cottage could do with a bit of a refurb. We also had to wash the crockery as some was dirty. On the plus side the location is good and the amenities onsite are the things that would entice us back. The park for the kids and the fantastic fields for the dog was a huge plus so was the little room with the washer and dryers, information and bits and bobs.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner: Thank you for your review on Keepers Cottage. We are pleased you liked the 17 acres of meadows and woodland for the children to explore, as well as The Old Wood Store and dedicated dog run field. We will be replacing the kitchen at the end of this season. We are proud of the cleanliness of our cottages which regularly achieve 10 / 10, so we sincerely apologise if there happened to be dirty cutlery. If we were aware, we would have rectified this immediately. We are pleased you enjoyed your stay and the area.
