A very comfortable base. Quiet but within walking distance of the quayside and plenty of places to eat even though we went out of season. We had heavy snow during the week but the cottage was warm and cosy.

We spent a lovely week at Coastal Hideout. The accommodation is comfortable, well maintained and in a good location. Secure and spacious off road parking was a real plus point for us along with the toddler/baby equipment provided. Thanks for a lovely holiday 🙂

Lovely stay. The cottage was clean and well equipped and in a great location, only a 2 minute walk from the centre of Wells.

Loved the cottage. The two negative points I'd like to mention. Firstly, quite a few plates were still encrusted with food, two thirds of the cutlery and a couple of pans. Seeing as we'd arrived that day, when we travelled considerable distance and we were tired it was really frustrating to have to wash by hand the encrusted food. Secondary The ensuite shower, because of the shower rain water head being fixed meant that some parts of the shower floor didn't get very wet. Therefore any spillage of shampoo, etc wasn't washed away. As a shower floor can get slippery anyway, it would be very useful to have a grab rail in there. I noticed someone else made this comment previously. It would definitely have been useful when I slipped on the last day, hitting my lower coccyx. Maybe a disability stool(don't rust) would be useful for the unsteady/infirm. They're about £30 in Argos/Boots. Being such a large room, it could sit in the corner somewhere out of the way, when not in use. Even to use when drying ones legs, as the floor tiles are the same as the walls, so therefore very slippery. Personally, I'd use it in the shower, then dry myself too, in the shower.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you so much for taking the time to post a review of Coastal Hideout. We are pleased to hear that you ‘loved’ our property, we love it too! We are sorry that some of the dishes / cutlery were dirty, our housekeeper is most attentive to detail, and so this must have been a one-off occurrence. Should you have mentioned this issue to us whilst you were in residence, our housekeeper would have been more than happy to come round and rectify the issue for you. There is a dishwasher with dishwasher tablets, salt and rinse aid provided therefore the dishes / cutlery did not require to be washed by hand. Thank you for the suggestion to provide a disability stool. We do not specifically advertise the property as disabled / wheelchair friendly. We do provide none slip mats in each shower room that guests can use if required. We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay at Coastal Hideout but only wish that you had contacted us during your stay so that we could have made it perfect!
