This detached cottage is beautifully set overlooking the rolling hills of Co. Sligo. It has been totally renovated yet retains an old world feel with its wood burning stove in the kitchen and open fire in the lounge. On fine evenings you can sit out on the deck to enjoy the sunset over the west of Ireland. The village of Gurteen, when translated, means ’little garden’, and that is just what this area is. For walkers, the nearby Curlew mountains offer challenging walks. Lough Garra and Lough Derg offer boating, fishing and other water activities. Golfers are also spoilt with several golf courses within easy reach. Gurteen is home to the Coleman Traditional Irish Music Centre. Exhibitions, concerts, workshops and summer schools are just some of its activities. Regular "ceili nights" and music sessions are held here and in the local pubs. Lough Key Forest Park is a fabulous day out with many beautiful walks and an activity park. Sligo and Carrick on Shannon are only 40 minutes away, with Strandhill, renowned for its excellent surfing, dunes and wide sandy beach is only 30 minutes. Further afield Westport, Galway and Connemara are all worth a day trip. Ireland West Airport in Knock is 40 minutes away. Shop, pub and restaurant 1½ miles.

Approximate distance to Knock Airport is 55 km.
