From a touch of luxury to characterful heritage, experience one of our truly inspiring holiday properties.

This magnificent Georgian holiday home is the ideal base for a family and friends retreat, with something for everyone available.

Clifton Cottages, comprising spacious Clifton Cottage, a large Georgian house and formerly the owners’ home, together with the smaller former groom’s cottage, Clifton Edge, has been converted with much care to provide comfortable holiday accommodation. Clifton Cottage (ref RH3), suitable for larger groups, boasts a large entrance hall, three reception rooms, and retains much original character with its beams, Aga and homely open fires. Clifton Edge (ref QBP) boasts a hot tub in its own enclosed garden providing the perfect way to relax at the end of the day. The hot tub is only available for use of guests at Clifton Edge (ref QBP) or when both Clifton Edge (ref QBP) and Clifton Cottage (ref RH3) are booked together. Adjacent, yet detached from one another, they are set in a village location with the market town of Ashbourne only 1½ miles away on the edge of the Peak District National Park. There are many shops to browse and good facilities including supermarkets and a number of restaurants. There are leisure centres at both Ashbourne and Uttoxeter for swimming, squash and other sports. A similar distance away, an 18-hole golf course proves popular with visitors (available weekdays only). From the cottages one can undertake country walks, cycle rides through country lanes and there is also a very good pub 100 yards away in the village which does good food and welcomes Clifton Cottages guests. Highlights in the area include Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Peak caves and caverns near Castleton, Alton Towers theme park (within 5 miles), Sudbury Museum of Childhood, Crich Tram Museum, Bakewell, Carsington Water, Matlock Bath including Gulliver’s Kingdom and the Heights of Abraham. Shop 11/4 miles.

Great place for a large family holiday. Just could do with a new bbq and the showers are a bit naff. But it is an old house

The house accommodated a large party easily but it was very tired. The aga was falling apart.

Lovely cottage that has a never ending amount of space. On first arrival it felt a bit like a rabbits warren with a different surprise around every corner. Lots of parking and a great kitchen ! Great value for money for such a huge house, but the value does show in the smaller details such as towel and bed linen, but that was a small downside on an otherwise great weekend. Good location for the pub and the cute local vending machine for essentials. Anything other than that is a good 20 - 25 mins walk in to Ashbourne. Would definitely return due to the value for money for a large group of people. 6 couples and 1 small dog.
