Welcome Cottages

A carefully curated collection of properties that offer high quality, good value accommodation in great locations across the UK, Ireland, France and Italy

Clematis Cottage is a well appointed cottage, with a shared laundry room and private hot tub.

Close to Anderby Creek

Set within the peaceful orchard gardens of the old Priory Farm in Anderby’s nature preservation area, in the Coastal Park, these exceptionally lovely cottages Wisteria Cottage (ref E5094), Rose Barn (ref E5095) and Clematis Cottage (ref E5096), share a pretty courtyard whilst each enjoying its own enclosed private garden and patio with hot tub. The luxuriously appointed cottage interiors are fresh and contemporary and the welcoming owner’s talent in garden design is evident in the aromatic herbs and gorgeous planting gracing the beautiful patio areas. Cycle loan is available to visitors for exploring the coastline – the coastal path runs both north and south and locally many waymarked footpaths invite walkers. Just 1.5 miles away is the glorious beach at Anderby Creek, which now boasts a new ‘cloud interpretation platform’ and bird hide as well as superb sands, a licensed beach cafe, seasonal shop and pub. (Dogs are welcome on part of the beach all year round although prohibited in the main bathing area in summer). Golf, coarse and sea fishing and horse riding are all enjoyed nearby. The East Coast’s diverse delights include fantastic beaches, seal havens, with breeding seals on the sands at Donna Nook in November, bird sanctuaries and of course the traditional seaside fun, restaurants and takeaways at Chapel St Leonards, 3½ miles, and Skegness, 9 miles, home of Fantasy Island theme park. The market town of Alford’s famous windmill is 4 miles, the city of Lincoln’s medieval centre and vibrant waterfront are an easy drive, and the area’s aviation museums are always popular.
The cottages can be booked together to accommodate up to 16 guests.

My partner and I had a wonderful time at Clematis Cottage. They are beautiful cottages in a rural location. The cottage is clean, well equipped and the owners are lovely and very helpful. There is no access to the Wi-Fi from Clematis which didn't impact our break but may be relevant to those that require it. The best part about Clematis though is by far the hot tub, so much bigger than we were expecting. It's amazing. Overall, a lovely little break away.

The cottages are very well appointed and superbly maintained and the design of the courtyard is excellent. The surrounding land is picturesque and teeming with wildlife. The hosts (Pete & Ali) are very welcoming and as helpful as can be. The underfloor heating is great but, as the floor is ceramic tiles throughout the property would benefit from the availability of a fire for an instant boost of temperature. Apart from that one observation I fail to see where the cottage could be improved upon without a considerable cost. We would certainly revisit this location.

Had a lovely time. It was a nice well set out cottage with everything you need. Bathroom window needed a clean and knocking on door 15 mins before departure time asking if we are going doesn't make you feel wanted. Bed was very firm and for me uncomfortable. But those are the only negatives.

This is a lovely holiday cottage with really helpful and friendly owners. We had a lovely time. It is perfect for cycling straight out from and the hot tub is amazing. Only issue for us was the beds. We just could not get comfortable despite trying them all. This is a personal preference so would not like to mark the place down because of it. The cottage is well equipped, I cooked every night and had everything I needed. Lovely welcome tray. Thanks to the owners for making us so welcome

The owners were lovely, no complaints there. However, although the cottage sleeps four with two large bedrooms the living area is far too cramped for 4 people (and two of our group were children) The cottage is tired & needs some TLC. The kitchen facilities left a lot to be desired with 1 ring on the hob not working, a temperamental kettle and a fridge that struggled to keep food cold. There were enough plates, bowls and cutlery for four but little else. Blunt knives, a broken cheese grater and too few glasses. Although this sounds negative the cottage is a good base for a quiet break. We managed some nice walks both across the countryside & along the long beaches. We also ventured to Skegness twice for some seaside fun. There very little close by in terms of shops & places to eat but we didn't find this a problem as Tesco delivered and we could drive further afield if we'd wanted to eat out. With a little work this could be a lovely place to stay for two.
