Lovely cottage. Everything required was available. Would not hesitate to recommend property to family or friends. At end of holiday I contacted owner to thank her for use of her cottage

Lovely part of the country to visit and the cottage was very comfortable and extremely well equipped. However, I would not return for 2 reasons - 1. The garden was inaccessible - large part given up to the neighbour (high fence blocking view from conservatory) and rest overgrown and a trip hazard. 2. The wet room, although beautifully fitted, was difficult to use. After a shower the water did not drain away quickly, but puddled around the toilet area preventing use for some time (as this was the only toilet in the property very inconvenient). We did however, find a mop outside just before departure which we could have used to aid drainage, but feel that visitors shouldn' t have to mop away excess water to access the facilities.

Dunbar doesn't have a lot of choice when it comes to self catering. Clayron Cottage turned out to be fine. The road is quiet so don't be put off by its lack of front garden or on street parking. It takes about 10-15 minutes to walk into town. If that is too far from you, there is lots of free parking in the main street and next to the harbour. Dunbar high street is complete with a full range of small independent food and provisions shops. Don't even think about going to the edge of town supermarket - you'd miss a treat, especially the fish shop and bread shop.

This cottage is about a mile from Dunbar in a quiet hamlet. When the sun comes out the room at the back, which is west facing, warms up the sitting room too, which is very pleasant. The kitchen had all we needed. We came by car & while you could arrive by public transport & walk I would hesitate before suggesting that. While it does sleep 4 we came as a couple. In summary, this is a cottage for a nice quiet weekend. Dunbar does have some nice places to eat also, just remember the drink / drive law is different in Scotland.
