We spent a fantastic week, the weather at the beginning of the week was great, although a bit wet towards the end, however, this did not stop us getting out walking and running to the beach, and really enjoyed a very windy walk along the golf course.

Nice cottage which is easy to to find. Parking outside as well. Beach and town close by but not a short walk. Good location to visit other parts of Scotland. Second bedroom is quite small with not much room when both beds are out however the master room is big. Bathroom is downstairs and also is a wet room.

The cottage had everything we needed & more. Nice & clean & comfy beds. Great base to see the area. Clear sky's at night were stunning.

Lovely part of the country to visit and the cottage was very comfortable and extremely well equipped. However, I would not return for 2 reasons - 1. The garden was inaccessible - large part given up to the neighbour (high fence blocking view from conservatory) and rest overgrown and a trip hazard. 2. The wet room, although beautifully fitted, was difficult to use. After a shower the water did not drain away quickly, but puddled around the toilet area preventing use for some time (as this was the only toilet in the property very inconvenient). We did however, find a mop outside just before departure which we could have used to aid drainage, but feel that visitors shouldn' t have to mop away excess water to access the facilities.

It was a good holiday. Unfortunately, the cottage was a little too far from Dunbar to walk regularly (one of my party was 84 years old). It was, however, nice and quiet, although it was situated on a main road. We had three good days in Edinburgh and saw lots of interesting things - I would recommend the open topped bus tour (any tour will do) as that takes you to all the sites and you can hop off and on when you like. If you buy a 48 hour ticket it gives greater flexibility if you intend to spend more than one day in Edinburgh. The best way to travel in is via Prestonpans station as the parking from there is free and you will have to pay to park at Dunbar. From Prestonpans it only takes 15 minutes to get into Edinburgh but the trains only run once an hour - so plan your trip carefully. We found that the train around 10.45 was quite convenient. We also went to North Berwick where we had a very pleasant, but wet, boat ride out to the Bass Rock where you can see a great many breeds of seabird. The Seabird Centre is also very interesting. On the way home we travelled through some beautiful scenery to the Grey Mare's Tail Waterfall which was very picturesque. If you have the energy, and correct foot attire, I would suggest climbing up the cliff as you get a much better view of the waterfall. The cottage was nice but unfortunately only has two bedrooms and one wet room, which includes the toilet. As there were three of us staying the fact that the toilet was in the same room as the washing facilities was rather inconvenient! Also the wet room got very wet and slippery after anyone had used the shower. This presented a slip hazard - my 84 year old step father was rather worried about falling in the wet room. Consequently, it required regular mopping out to try and keep it dry. The table and chairs in the garden are a nice touch and we had a lovely sunny lunch one day using these. All in all a good stay. Many thanks.
