Nice clean, well furnished accommodation. Gravel in front yard made it a bit tricky to access, similarly would have been better if you could park in front of accommodation, as my daughter is disabled-uses wheelchair. Felt letting company should have pointed this out during telephone booking. Bannister on landing very loose, had to avoid using it for fear of falling down stairwell. Website mentioned walks in grounds, but no details of these in accommodation, or signs within grounds to guide us. Difficult to leave property due to location on busy A64, have to allow plenty to time to get into traffic, but this location is also handy for access to York and shopping centres. Good choice if able bodied, looking for short stay near York.

We enjoyed our stay at Cooke Cottage and would definitely recommend to family and friends.

Generally clean but oven in kitchen needed attention grill left dirty. Cottage had a strong smell of dog plus taps in bathroom need attention as not working properly and pipe leaked in downstairs cloakroom. Having said that our grandchildren made full use of the facilities available and we believe with some tlc the site has the potential to offer so much more and we would return as surrounding area has plenty to do for all ages.

We recently spent 4 nights here with 3 boys aged 10 to 12 and we had a great time. The venue and facilities exceeded our expectations and the boys were extremely happy with all the facilities especially the pool. On arrival we were immediately welcomed by a very friendly gentleman on a ride on lawnmower who gave us all the required information and from then on we felt at home straight away. The grounds were superbly landscaped and the children were very safe to play on site. We would certainly consider returning and would recommend the venue to family and friends.

Had a great half term break at Cooke Cottage. Easy to find from York and convenient for restaurants. Played some pool / table tennis and had a few swims in the pool as well. Cottage is very comfortable and well equipped with 3 bedrooms. Nice and warm as well with additional electric fire or for £10 extra a massive basket of wood / bucket of coal / firelighters etc enough for a few real fires. Would go back again in the future!

Really good place to stay but probably wouldn't return as feel we have explored the area and would like to go somewhere different. Loved the pool and other amenities and would recommend to someone else.
