The cottage is tiny but very well planned to make best use of the space. It is well equipped - nice crockery, saucepans, bed, etc. Lovely and quiet, and warms well in cool weather. The muddy lane approach through a stable yard is initially a bit off-putting, but once you get to the cottage it has pleasant grassy and treed surrounds.

The interior was basically clean & tidy. The washbasin in the shower room was far too small. The approach over the owners land was through a muddy stable yard and the approach to the parking place was steep, muddy, twisting, and in any case occupied by the owners car for most of the week. Inside the cottage the view thro' most windows was of largely of decay and dereliction, dead trees, abandoned equipment & rubbish heaps. Not what we expected.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Cider House Cottage is well-appointed and rated by Cottages.com as being 4*. The Cottage is situated on a working livestock farm and livery yard, no reasonable person staying at this Cottage should expect to find it existing other than in a truly rural setting. Unfortunately, in wet weather, mud on the main drive is sometimes unavoidable. Farm machinery, and stocks of animal feed are kept well away from areas where visitors have free access, but although it is well hidden, in winter with no leaves on the trees, its existence is sometimes partially visible. The Cottage is however ideally suitable for guests who are able bodied and young at heart, who enjoy hill walking, the English riding school and the western trail riding centre. For those who wish to explore the wider Cotswolds, the Cottage is in easy walking distance of the village of Prestbury. Parking directly at the Cottage is always made available, but for those who prefer the easier parking in the farm yard, they are welcome to use it. The Cottage is only a few minutes’ drive from the centre of Cheltenham.

Cosy comfortable cottage a bit remote from village and muddy track access but good stay friendly owners
