Lovely house in a nice quiet village, ideal location for Durham and Beamish museum. We made some suggestions to improve the facilities. We enjoyed our time there, for the 3 nights we had booked.

Overall we were pleased with our holiday the location was perfect for us and there was plenty of room ,and clean, this was our second stay at Church View , however it was disappointing to find that maintenance on the house was lacking with a broken sofa, a front door that couldn't be opened , a broken internal door handle ,and electric socket was loose in the lounge, generally a coat of paint and attention to peeling woodwork ,and the cooking utensils were in poor condition, the gardens were in need of care and attention.

The house looks well maintained but could use a proper cleaning service. they were dead flies on a couple of the upstars windows, which is not ideal. We also had to wash most of the plates and cups before use. overal the place was quite good.

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your comments. We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay. We are sorry to hear some of the utensils were not clean upon arrival; we will look into this and ensure all utensils are checked as part of the house clean which is undertaken before every arrival.

Lovely spacious house, with mod cons. Positioned on the village green with easy access to Durham. Local pub next door (a little more consideration from some people leaving after a Saturday night function would have been appreciated but other than that no issues). House was ideal for what we needed and would definitely return if the opportunity arises. Nice contained garden, with BBQ and decking area - unfortunately, not the right time of year to make use of it.

Response on behalf of the owner; We are glad that you enjoyed the facilities. The nearby pub does offer a quiz night and entertainment. Please return in the summer and feel free to use our BBQ and enclosed rear garden.
