In superb locations and beautiful settings. Cottages4you gives you a fantastic range of hand-picked properties with quality you can rely on.

Attractive both inside and out with modern interiors, a games room and an enclosed garden. Location ideal for wildlife watching.

Dating back to 1706, Church House sits between an adjoining cottage and a post office in the Duddon Valley, an unspoilt jewel within the Lake District National Park. Abundant wildlife includes peregrines, ravens, red squirrels and deer. There are walks and access through the owners’ land to the picturesque River Duddon with salmon and sea trout (two fishing permits provided, Environment Agency licence from PO). The Duddon Valley is a jewel in the crown of Cumbria, situated between Coniston and Eskdale, remote, unspoilt and perhaps the most idyllic corner of the Lake District. The Duddon Valley will delight walkers, mountain bikers, climbers, nature lovers and those who enjoy the peace and beauty of the countryside. The tiny villages of Ulpha and Seathwaite are two focal points of the valley. Seathwaite, situated near the end of the ancient Walna Scar road, boasts the 16th century Newfield Inn, where good home-cooked food, real ales and a warm welcome await, all day, all year. Shop 10 yards, pub and restaurant 3 miles.

Warm, comfortable and clean. Set in a quieter area of the lakes which is perfect for our needs. Have visited this cottage 8 years on the trot now so that says it all really.

It was a lovely cottage even though it rained for our entire stay. I imagine it is beautiful when the sun shines. Hope to be back one day. The owner was very pleasant indeed and most helpful.

Church House is full of character, homely, and yet very practical and easy to live in. The kitchen is the best equipped we have encountered on holiday, with practical equipment like scales, measuring cups, and a wide range of utensils and pans enabling us to make the most of time for proper cooking, and the pub an option instead of a necessity. Ample larder and utility room space made storing food, wet coats, walking boots, rucksacks etc. easy. The sitting room was comfortable, and the main bedroom is delightful and the bathroom is modern and easy to keep clean. The dining room had its charm too, but for us was unused space. A second living room/snug to separate TV/board games/playroom space for kids from reading space for adults would have been more useful. The shared games room is a barn, which we loved, but might be disconcerting to those expecting a more clean and clinical space. The barn also provided dry and secure storage for our bikes, which we appreciated. The garden is just as delightful as the house, with its several distinct zones providing lots of opportunity to relax in the open air. The location is as convenient as could be asked for in such a rural location, and having a small post office/general store and helpful post mistress next door was a great benefit.

Loved our week in this wonderful cottage. Old but so beautifully and appropriately done up with all equipment you'd need...
