Affording every comfort for an enjoyable holiday Chittering Farm is comfortably furnished and makes an excellent choice for families.

Chittering Farm was rebuilt from an old barn to afford every comfort for an enjoyable and relaxing holiday. An excellent choice for families, the property is very comfortably furnished with a spacious living room and welcoming open fire, making the perfect retreat for winter evenings. The French doors provide access to the beautiful surroundings on warm summer evenings. Providing bright, spacious accommodation, this detached house with unspoilt views over open countryside, is well equipped with excellent facilities and comes with 1-acre of garden, where you can play badminton (net and rackets provided), let your little once bounce around the enclosed trampoline, or play a bit of football with your children, as the owners’ have added a football net as well - this property really has it all. Accessed by a private road and set in the heart of the owner’s 3000-acre arable farm, a stay here will provide the opportunity to enjoy the rural tranquillity of farm life including farm and river walks, bird watching and cycling. It also offers the convenience of being just a short drive from the historic city of Cambridge (there are also cycle routes to Cambridge from the farm) and cathedral city of Ely.
The city of Cambridge is 10 miles away, famous for its colleges, museums, botanic gardens and art galleries, where visitors can also try their hand at punting on the river Cam or enjoy a wealth of restaurants, pubs and theatres. Ely is 6 miles in the other direction with its 12th-century cathedral and range of interesting shops and restaurants. National Trust properties can be found at Wicken Fen, 5 miles, an ideal place to explore fen landscapes and Anglesey Abbey and gardens. A day at the races in Newmarket, 14 miles, is a possibility, or pay a visit to the National Horse Racing Museum in the town. An added bonus for steam enthusiasts staying at Chittering Farm is the Stretham Old Engine, which is located on the edge of the farm; erected in 1831 this is one of the earliest examples of a land drainage steam engine. There is also the opportunity to try your hand at wakeboarding, and there is an aqua park nearby on farm reservoir, bookable in advance by contacting the owner. Shop 2 miles, pub 1 mile.

Spacious & comfortable, we were a group 9 friends & dog & all enjoyed the stay.We were met by the very helpful owner,& generous welcome pack. Despite the freezing weather the house was always warm, the kitchen was hugh with a lovely lounge for those that needed some peace. The Lazy Otter was 1.1 miles across the farm track for Sunday lunch ,very friendly & welcoming The garden was paradise for our dog to play ball in & surrounded by open land ,no sheep. There are miles of walks along river Ouse. Would not hesitate to book again.

Very friendly greeting on arrival, immediately offered us a late check out on our last day as not booked on our departure day. Excellent cottage, well laid out with large fully equipped kitchen, large main lounge (2nd lounge for those that want to be anti-social !) and 6 spacious bedrooms. The table tennis and pool tables in the barn were an added bonus for us. Highly recommended.

We had four generations of our family all staying together - fantastic memory making times in a fabulous, spacious home.

We had a wonderful family holiday stay - our second visit. With 3 generations, and many people to accommodate, we struggle to find quality accommodation with the right 'fit' of bedrooms for our combination of couples and children. Chittering Farm provides a fantastic solution. The bedrooms are spacious and comfortable. The dining room table provides seating for all, and the 2 sitting rooms are ideal when children want to play noisy games and some grown ups want to watch the rugby. The barn next door with the games room is ideal - we even braved it, unheated, in December, for after dinner ping pong and pool. And the children loved the trampoline during the day. The owners are so friendly and helpful. I'd highly recommend it for a weekend break for a large family gathering. We'll be back soon...

Fab venue for large group. Near enough to Cambridge, Bury and Ely for shops etc, walking distance of a pub. Hope to come back in the summer to make more use of the outside.

Beautiful cottage and very well equiped. Lovely welcome from owners and appreciated the welcome pack. It was quite remote, with no good walks from the front door. However, there are lots of nice villages & walks in the area. Would definitely recommend!

Chittering Farm proved an excellent and relaxing base for our reunion with 9 "old friends". The spacious cottage was clean, comfortable and well equipped. The owner was friendly and welcoming and met us to explain access etc and the gift of fresh vegetables was very kind. The grounds and equipment was fantastic. We especially enjoyed the table tennis. We are looking forward to returning soon!
