Affording every comfort for an enjoyable holiday Chittering Farm is comfortably furnished and makes an excellent choice for families.

Chittering Farm was rebuilt from an old barn to afford every comfort for an enjoyable and relaxing holiday. An excellent choice for families, the property is very comfortably furnished with a spacious living room and welcoming open fire, making the perfect retreat for winter evenings. The French doors provide access to the beautiful surroundings on warm summer evenings. Providing bright, spacious accommodation, this detached house with unspoilt views over open countryside, is well equipped with excellent facilities and comes with 1 acre of garden, where you can play badminton (net and rackets provided). Accessed by a private road and set in the heart of the owner’s 3000-acre arable farm, a stay here will provide the opportunity to enjoy the rural tranquillity of farm life including farm and river walks, bird watching and cycling. It also offers the convenience of being just a short drive from the historic city of Cambridge (there are also cycle routes to Cambridge from the farm) and cathedral city of Ely.
The city of Cambridge is 10 miles away, famous for its colleges, museums, botanic gardens and art galleries, where visitors can also try their hand at punting on the river Cam or enjoy a wealth of restaurants, pubs and theatres. Ely is 6 miles in the other direction with its 12th-century cathedral and range of interesting shops and restaurants. National Trust properties can be found at Wicken Fen
(5 miles), an ideal place to explore fen landscapes and Anglesey Abbey and gardens. A day at the races in Newmarket (14 miles) is a possibility, or pay a visit to the National Horse Racing Museum in the town. An added bonus for steam enthusiasts staying at Chittering Farm is the Stretham Old Engine which is located on the edge of the farm; erected in 1831 this is one of the earliest examples of a land drainage steam engine. There is also the opportunity to experience wakeboarding, with tuition, on the farm reservior (by arrangement with the owners). Shop 2 miles, pub 1 mile.

Great place to go for a family reunion. The weather was awful but having the games room with the pool table and table tennis table meant we didn't really notice the weather! the house was very spacious and well laid out. The 2 separate lounges meant there was plenty of room for a large group and you didnt feel on top of each other at all. The house is furnished to a great standard and I couldn't think of one thing to complain about. We really enjoyed it and would recommend it to anyone looking for a similar break

We had a great family holiday. Happy to recommend it to anyone and everyone. The beds were ultra comfortable. There were plenty of towels. Everything we needed in the kitchen was there for us and as there were 2 birthdays we did a lot of baking. We never felt crowded in the house despite there being 15 of us (including the babies). The wifi never faltered. Every channel we could possibly want was available on the televisions, although the games barn kept many of us entertained, so they didn't get turned on very much. The ice maker was a hit with everyone. The local area kept us all busy for the week. Enjoyed Cambridge and Ely. We couldn't believe we didn't have to pay for parking in Ely! The people were all friendly and couldn't have been more helpful. Wicked Fen was fascinating. We enjoyed watching the harriers and kestrels around the farm and got very excited when a pair of herons came to visit us in the garden one morning. The owner was very helpful and I could go on and on. We will return!

Lovely house. Care taken by owner to show where everything is. No short cuts or second rate equipment. Had a comfortable quality weekend.

Chittering Farm is an absolutely wonderful house with excellent facilities. Apart from the pot-holed access road, which is a bit of a challenge, everything else is just excellent

Beautiful house in a lovely setting, a bit tricky to find initially but good directions supplied. The accommodation is great with everything thought of to make the stay exceptionally comfortable. The hosts are very accommodating, helpful and open. Lovely open spaces to take a few nice walks and good secure feeling within the area. Internal space as well is taken care of and there is no possibility of you feeling on top of one another. Overall a great stay and definitely a consideration for future group breaks.

A wonderfully well equipped large farmhouse - perfect for our family holiday (12 of us across 3 generations and including under 2). Jane couldn't have been more helpful in attending to little details and very minor problems. This really is in the middle of a very large, working arable farm. As such some people might find it to be a little too remote - for us the advantage of space far outweighed any concerns.

The cottage was lovely and clean, with plenty of room for us all to roam around. It was well equipped, and the owners lots of nice touches like butter, milk and a sack of potatoes grown on their own farm. Not far from lots of places if you like to go wandering - Ely, Newmarket or Cambridge. Found it easy to gather in both the dining room and the large lounge area at the back of the house. Plenty of games and activities available to keep the troops entertained. Would definitely go back again.
