In an acre of grounds, with its own heated swimming pool, this superbly renovated Breton stone house has a rural location near to both Bénodet and Beg Meil. Bénodet is a lively resort with plenty of promenade cafés, shops, restaurants, safe beaches and excellent water sports facilities, while nearby Beg Meil is quieter, with just a few shops and restaurants. The property interior is very attractive - furnished and equipped to a good standard - with a large living room and a feature stone fireplace. A stone table with benches, garden furniture and barbecue have been thoughtfully provided by the owners. Just across the estuary lies the lively little port of Ste. Marine, which holds summer exhibitions and festivals, and has a restaurant overlooking the harbour. The nearest beach is only 2km away, and there are others a little further.

Approximate distance to Brest airport is 69 km.

We had a lovely family holiday, we loved the pool and the garden. The surrounding area is beautiful and shops, beaches etc only short drive away.

Neat and clean place, but very unconfortable for normal size people (beds, chairs, ...) and not very well equipped. Poor connectivity. - no WIFI, nor telephone in case of emergency. Beware of extra carges for electricity and water (+100€ per week). The electrical (!) heating for the pool can be switched off easily. Value for money, consindering already high weekly rates, is rather low.

This beautiful cottage is unfortunately very uncomfortable to stay in. It has awkward furniture and lumpy beds it also has a musty caravan smell that lingers on clothes and baggage. Be prepared to pay extra for any gas, electricity, and even water that you use. A cleaning charge is also added at the end of your stay €60 minimum. The upstairs toilet made a strange noise and an even worse smell when flushed and the wash basin leaked into a Tupperware pot that had to be emptied with a cup because once filled was too big to get passed he sink trap. When I alerted the owner to the smoke alarm that was going off at irregular interviews her solution was to remove and not replace the battery. The pool was freezing and when we asked for it to be heated we were told it couldn't be switched on until the 1st of June and then it would take a week to warm up. However the day before we left we discovered after being out all day exploring the beautiful Brittany countryside ( Pont Aven is a must visit) that the pool was at an acceptable temperature. We realised the heating had been turned on. When we questioned the owner the next day she said it was in preparation for her next customers arriving later that day she then read the electric meter and totalled our bill expecting us to pay for the extra cost of heating the pool that not only had we been denied but had only taken a day not a week to take the chill off. Fortunately my wife had had the foresight to record the meter readings overnight but it was only when we provided photographic evidence of those that the owner relented and reduced the bill.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Agency; Dear guest, Thank you for your feedback which we have shared with the Owner. She explained that the furniture style is in line with this type of house in the region. She was very sorry you had so many concerns because she thought you seemed rather pleased with your stay. This is the first time she receives a complaint actually. People are always very happy. It is correct that the pool was not heated but this was made clear before the guests arrived and she confirmed that they had no extra charge to pay. The wash basin is not leaking and no other guest reported any strange noise with the toilet. She informed that she was just given a 3-star label from the official French tourism board (from May 2017). We hope you still had a pleasant stay in the region.
