This cottage is located in the beautiful Bowcombe Valley, just 4 miles from the nearest south coast beach.

Nestling in the beautiful Bowcombe Valley, just 4 miles from the nearest south coast beach, are these two properties. Brummell Barn is one of the original outbuildings to Cheverton Farmhouse, converted to provide highly individual and spacious accommodation. Boasting a wealth of interesting and original features, the barn has a splendid galleried sitting-room with beamed, vaulted ceiling enjoying lovely views over the surrounding countryside from its south-facing window. West-facing windows overlook the farmyard. Set close to the owner’s home on their mixed sheep, beef and arable farm, Brummell Barn has its own enclosed terrace with garden furniture and barbecue and Wendy house. Cheverton Farm Cottage is attached to the owner’s 18th-century home, with beams throughout. It has a large garden, and patio with garden furniture and barbecue (note: entrance is from the side door, not shown in photograph). With access to 730 acres of meadow and arable land adjoining forest and downland walking trails, visitors also enjoy shared use of a trampoline, swings, climbing frame, slide, games room with table tennis and air hockey, fitness room and a separate room with full-size billiard/snooker table (for adults) and darts, as well as use of the family’s indoor heated swimming pool. With dogs, ducks, chickens, sheep and cattle to visit, children will enjoy watching the varied farming activities (lambing in April). A perfect base for a family holiday, offering all the peace and quiet of the countryside combined with bathing beaches and a mild sunny climate.Shorwell, with its thatched stone cottages and Jacobean houses is 1 mile, while all the island’s popular seaside resorts are easily reached by a circular coastal road. Sandown and Shanklin, on the east side, have fine sandy beaches and Ventnor, at the southern tip, with its Botanic gardens, is huddled between steep, wooded cliffs. The farmhouse is a registered mountain bike centre for the Isle of Wight, there is an approximately 3 mile bike trail from the farm. Para-gliding, riding and golf can also be arranged (at cost). Shop and pub serving food 1 mile.

    Had a very enjoyable stay it was ideal for families plenty to keep children occupied. The cottage was very well equipped and cosy. The couple who run the cottage were very friendly welcoming and helpful

    A superb location with plenty to do for children, swimming pool, toys, children's play area, games, farm walks the list is endless. Paddy and Sheila were superb hosts who went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. I had an accident on our second day, they both did everything possible to help. Having no phone signal or Internet readily available was a bonus but could be gained from the Farm Office. They thought about everything. Ŕeal value for money.

    Lovely farm cottage with all the equipment you need. Fab for toddlers - playground and pool and sheep to keep them entertained! Great location to travel all over the island you can get pretty much everywhere from coast to Coast in half an hour. Fab beaches nearby - Compton bay and shanklin beach. Seaview wildlife centre and godshill (pretty village, gift shops, cream teas) worth visiting. Cottage didn't have wifi or phone signal which is great for a truly relaxing break and if you do need to log on you can get access in the farm office/near the barn. Would def stay again. Paddy and Sheila were great hosts. Very welcoming and left to own devices.

    Beautiful well appointed cottage on a lovely farm with friendly owners who were happy to help but in no way intrusive. The equipment on offer was superb with a lovely well kept pool and other games facilities. This truly was a great place to stay and we will be returning next year.

    A lovely old cottage, very comfortable and homely. Swimming pool was great as we had our seven year old grandson with us who, like his Grandad, enjoyed an hour in the morning and an hour early evening in the pool. Lovely people who operate the cottage, very friendly and approachable.

    Really lovely cottage, the living room is slightly small but perfectly formed, 3 nice size bedrooms 2 twin beds (one bedroom has a cot) 1 double bedded room. We all remarked on how comfortable the beds were. Large bathroom with bath and separate shower and toilet, also on same floor a separate toilet. Kitchen was well equipped. We had lovely family meals sat around the big kitchen table. There was a beautiful well maintained garden attached to the cottage for our use. The facilities at Cheverton farm are really good, for me I loved just being able to walk through the farm and out onto the rolling hills with lovely views. you could stay there all week and not go out in your car if you really wanted to chill! I really enjoyed waking up in the morning opening the curtains and seeing ducks and chickens in the yard. As everybody else has says the hosts are lovely and friendly but not intrusive.

    This was our third holiday in the cottage and once again we had a fantastic time. The owners are so welcoming and the farm is a perfect place to relax for a stress free week. Beautiful walks, feeding lambs and swimming every day. Roll on next year!

    A beautiful farm cottage in lovely peaceful surroundings with loads of facilities. The pool and games rooms were perfect for when the weather was too rainy to do anything. Sheila and Paddy were wonderful hosts and always friendly and ready to help. Overall a perfect relaxing stay for our family with very young children. Would definitely go back, only next time hopefully when the weather is a bit less cold and rainy and the island attractions are open (my fault for booking in January!)
