On the face of it the house is very nice , reasonably roomy with enough bedrooms and bathrooms for a number of people. However, we were 6 adults and 4 small children and I found the dining table unhygenic with the cracks of the boards and the very large split at one end. Food fell into these cracks and were impossible to get out and certainly on holiday you do not want the job. A table which is smooth to clean over easily would be much better. The same can be said for the wood flooring which had very large gaps at the kitchen end of the living room and collected all sorts. There was no hoover for us to use, which would be a good idea with small children. The sofas were not comfortable at all and when checking them at the end of our stay for small toys or whatever behind the cushions we found they had not been hoovered for a long time underneath the top cushions with the accumulation of a lot of debris. The drawers in the bedrooms had not been cleaned , with biscuit crumbs and bits in them. More cleaning definitely needed between stays, for instance for cobwebs, marks, etc. Duvet cover on my bed falling apart at seams. Beds not very comfortable. Probably one of the most annoying aspects was the lack of cloths and cleaning products to be able to clean the kitchen top, hob or bathrooms. No bags for the bin, nothing for dish/pot cleaning. I have not found such a complete lack of a few of these things before. It can't cost that much to provide them, especially at the double rate of school holidays as opposed to other times, which I feel is so unnecessary.

Good location for local walking, trips to Pickering and further afield to the coast. We used the stay for a Family get together to celebrate a birthday- lovely choice

The cottage was spacious. The location is rural. Local pubs over 1 mile and along dark tracks. The farm itself is beautiful. The conversions have been completed to a high spec. The owners are friendly and helpful. We spent a quiet race full week there.

A great location and beautiful outside surroundings characterised this property. The horse, goats and other farm animals in the adjacent field added to the rural ambience. The inside was clean, and comfortable with more than adequate bathroom provision. Each bed had a bedside table and light. A few minor grumbles - adequate amount of crockery and cutlery but an assorted mixture rather than matching. There were not enough red-wine glasses or tumblers and the lighting in the main sitting area was poor; it could have done with a standard lamp and a couple of table lamps. Now if thus detracted from a very enjoyable stay
