Description

Relax in your own private hot tub after a day spent exploring all the attractions this area has to offer.

Situated in a superb location, just a short walk from the centre of the charming village of Sedgefield, Cherry Blossom Cottage and Durham House brim with character. Ideal for larger parties, Durham House is a spacious, comfortable former village inn, which has been restored to provide excellent accommodation for groups and families to enjoy. Located just a short walk up the road from Cherry Blossom Cottage, this beautiful 8 bedroom holiday property benefits from a large outdoor recreational area, a games room and even has its own bar with a pool table, perfect for reunions, celebrations and family gatherings.

Cherry Blossom Cottage is a terraced holiday cottage with an inglenook fireplace, and provides ideal accommodation for a small family. The open fire and beams featuring inside the property help you relax after a day’s exploring, not to mention the wood-burning hot tub. German-style and completely chemical free, it offers a natural bathing experience to revitalise yourself body and mind.

Sedgefield dates back to the 13th century and is believed to exist as a Roman settlement. The 2-mile heritage trail provides a wealth of history. With some good eateries and pubs, the properties are in an ideal location for exploring the many visitor attractions in north Yorkshire, which is just half an hour away. Alnwick, with its famous castle used in the Harry Potter films, the Heritage Coast, peppered with castles and golden beaches, and York with its beautiful minster, can all be reached within an hour. Closer to home, visit Beamish Living Museum, Durham, 16 miles, or Newcastle, 28 miles. Renowned as one of the finest historical and cultural cities in the UK, the city of Durham has a magnificent cathedral and castle, a World Heritage Site. Enjoy its medieval architecture, winding cobbled streets, unique shops, pubs and restaurants.

If it’s fresh country air and wonderful walks you’re looking for, then Sedgefield nestles between the Yorkshire Dales, County Durham and the North York Moors, where you will find some of the most dramatic countryside, including High Force waterfalls, stunning coastal walks and the Castle Eden Walkway. Sedgefield races are a regular feature on the local calendar, which take place all year round. For golfers, visit the Knotty Hill Golf Centre, which is just one of many golf courses in the area. Beach 12 miles. Shop 500 yards, pub and restaurant 100 yards.

Hi, Everything about the cottage & Lesley was very welcoming, it was our 50th wedding anniversary, and I wanted to surprise my wife on arrival at the cottage. There was a big balloon, and banner, attached to the door of the cottage. Inside was a lovely anniversary cake, which was a wonderful surprise to myself and Sandra ( my wife ). Unfortunately on the Monday I had news from home that my nephew had been injured, so we had to cut our holiday short and return home. Sedgefield a lovely village, people's very friendly & helpful. Will come back and enjoy more time at cherry blossom cottage, thankyou Lesley. Mike & sandra

we loved staying at the cottage. It was warm and cosy and the hot tub (once it was stoked up) was a great added bonus. The cottage is very close to everything you need for a great holiday. we would recommend it for a north east break!
