Just a short drive from the northern ports of France, you can experience life in a real French château, with five acres of shared gardens and mature trees together with a lake. The holiday properties have been lovingly restored by their English owners with great attention to detail and are within walking distance of Hesdin with its popular Thursday market, restaurants and bars to enjoy. The properties are ideally placed for exploring the 7 Vallées region with its pretty villages nestling in the valleys, yet under an hour from the lovely sandy beaches of the Côte d’Opale’s seaside resorts including Le Touquet and Hardelot. Enjoy the many summer festivals in the region, browse for bargains at the local brocantes or enjoy lunch and dinner in one of the many restaurants nearby. The area is very popular with walkers, cyclists and canoeists alike with excellent facilities nearby. Dine al fresco on the terrace in front of the château or enjoy a picnic in the grounds.

We had a fantastic holiday at Chateau Marconne. There were 10 of us, 7 adults and 3 very excited little boys who thought they were living in a castle. The huge space and lovely grounds were very atmospheric. It was a reasonably short walk into the centre of Hesdin to find shops and restaurants, and Esther and Richard, the caretakers were very helpful. While the main living area is a bit 'shabby chic,' the bedrooms and en-suite bathrooms (a real bonus) were fine. The outside furniture could perhaps do with an upgrade as the table was a bit rickety.

Chateau Marconne is a spectacular property with very spacious grounds and located within walking distance of the nearest amenities located in Hesdin. We could not find the local bar in Marconne as advertised. The property made a great base for an adult party of 8 and the main reception / dining room a perfect venue for after dinner games. Small negative points were the need for tea / coffee making facilities in bedrooms as the number of stairs to them meant carrying hot drinks was dangerous. Also pool table did not work and some of the beds past their best. All of this reported to the friendly keepers of the chateau and will, no doubt, be addressed. A great family holiday!

We stayed here as a party of 7 adults during the first week of May to celebrate a milestone Birthday. It is a truly unique property and gives a true feeling of living in a small Chateau, with a breathtaking main living room and Drawing Room/Library. The kitchen has just been renewed and was more than adequate for our party. Bedrooms are up two flights of stairs (around 47 steps) and are completely separate from the living areas, so not really suitable for younger children. Having 5 en suite bedrooms is a real bonus too. Richard and his partner as resident caretakers were extremely helpful and full of local knowledge, and work hard to keep the grounds and Chateau in great condition. As to be expected a house of this size and character can be a little chilly outside of Summer but open fire and locally purchased gas heating kept the chill at bay. Great value for money and a great location - less than 2 hours from Calais, and a short drive to the beach, walkable to shops and a variety of shops and restaurants in Hesdin.

Spent a truly wonderful week with family and friends. A superb house with fantastic facilities for the price paid. We enjoyed a Murder Mystery evening with the amazing backdrop of the huge feature fireplace and the wistfully eclectic décor. The kitchen was reasonably well equipped and we had no problem in preparing meals for nine adults. The bedrooms were light, airy, comfortable and all en-suite, which was perfect. A gentle 10 minute stroll into town brought us a good selection of shops and restaurants and the market on Thursday morning was huge. The caretakers, Richard and Esther, looked after us very well and have a great knowledge of the local area and attractions.

Had a really great time here, kitchen a little small for amount of people that can stay there so a bigger oven would be helpful. Great location to get to many places including Paris for the day, very relaxing, big roaring fire, would definitely recommend to others and would go back
