Description

Chapel Place cleverly combines traditional features including a wood burner with modern furnishings to provide an excellent quality property for six guests.

This delightful, dog friendly, three bedroom property offers elegant holiday accommodation just 100 yards from the picturesque harbour town of Mousehole. Chapel Place retains many of its original features, but also boasts wi-fi and a Freeview Smart TV for those who still like to stay connected or be entertained. The living room has a panelled ceiling and a wood-burning stove, making the room feel spacious and cosy, with generous space to relax with the whole family. The well-equipped kitchen has striped wooden floors, a large electric range and a table for six guests, where you can plan the days Cornish adventure over breakfast. Upstairs, there are two double bedrooms, one with an en-suite, and a twin bedroom. All enjoy luxurious bedding, allowing you to get a good night sleep and fully recharge your batteries. There are two large bathrooms; one accessed at the back of the living room, which has a walk-in power shower, and the other located upstairs, which has a power shower over a spa bath, for those who like bath time bubbles.
Accessed through the living room or kitchen, the enclosed courtyard garden gives you secluded outside space to enjoy an evening BBQ, or to just relax with a drink. It also provides secure space to let your dogs out without fear of them wandering off. Chapel Place comes with a ’sliver’ of a driveway, which is just outside the front of the property, which is a real rarity in the village. A small or medium sized car should have no problem, and with practice, a larger car can be parked on there. For those not wanting to risk their paintwork, there are public car parks close by for £3 per day.
Mousehole is a traditional fishing village. Wander the maze of winding narrow streets and alleys, and within a few minutes walk you will find some exceptional restaurants and a dog friendly pub. Shop for everyday necessities, go for morning coffee or afternoon tea, or enjoy an ice cream on the harbour beach - there is something for everyone. Shop 200 yards, pub 100 yards.

Large living room with wood-burning stove. Well-equipped kitchen with electric range (for cooking), breakfast area and wooden floor. Shower room with remote control shower and toilet. First floor: Two double bedrooms, one with en-suite bathroom with ¾ bath and toilet. Twin bedroom with wooden floor. Bathroom with shower over spa bath and toilet.

Lovely property - in Winter it was great to have the log burner in the lounge (although it was a little smokey) and the central heating was wonderfully quick and effective. Warm as toast! The kitchen was really well equipped with every utensil you'd need.

our stay at Chapel Place was fab, the cottage was wonderful it would be my dream cottage right to the décor. It was a lovely location not far from places to visit. The locals were very friendly. When we decide to come again we think we would try in the Summer. Mcallister,

Chapel cottage is a very comfortable clean cottage with parking and garden all which was great in Mousehole. Unfortunately although I have my own dog something in the house made my asthma bad. Probably other dogs that i am not used to. That is why I would not stay there again!

The cottage was very comfortable and well equipped, with lovely bedding and would be gorgeous in fine weather when you can use the garden as well. Excellent position in the village and very quiet. Very quiet except, unfortunately for us and not in the control of the owners, 3 of the 4 mornings we were there we were woken up before 8.00am by road works taking place on the road at the back of the house which sounded as if they were in the bedroom! The only other thing, we might have got this wrong, was that we were not able to use the wood burner as we could not find any coal or wood and we thought that the initial load would be there. Little quibbles though, we had a fab time, would definitely go back and would recommend to friends.

Have been staying in Mousehole over 20 years and this is definitely one of the best cottages we have stayed in. Big bonus is parking space and garden. No hesitation recommending it. Will be looking to stay here again.

We have been staying here for many years. In Mousehole the benefit of the garden is a huge bonus, especially with a dog. My only criticism would be the "parking space", only of use for a very small car, so I use either South Quay (weekly ticket available) or roadside. The Old Coastguard is now good value and dog friendly, 2 Forestreet excellent food, The Legion good for casual drink. Newlyn & Penzance reasonable walk away.

Chapel Place was beautifully clean and well presented, with traditional features that made it cosy and homely. The outside patio is spacious, and sheltered and is a bonus in Mousehole, as is the parking space, which is adequate for a medium sized car. Further parking is available in the harbour or up the hill next to the Coastguard Hotel if there are 2 cars in your party. The cottage has 3 bathrooms (1 has a small bath only) , which is ideal for larger parties, and a well equipped kitchen. Bedrooms are spacious and beds are comfortable. It is ideally located just a minutes walk from the harbour, beach, shops, pub and restaurants. Mousehole is a delight and never disappoints - we have been going there since we were children, nearly forty years now, and we will continue to do so. West Cornwall is stunning and there is so much to explore - if you are able, it's worth taking the time and effort to get off the beaten path and discover those hidden gems! Another lovely holiday and Mousehole and would definitely stay at Chapel Place again. To get the most out of a holiday cottage and the area, it is always worth reading the Visitor Information and Visitors book - this is the case with Chapel Place, as there are some great tips!
