Description

A beautiful location overlooking Worms Head on the Gower Peninsula in South Wales; there’s much to see and do locally.

Channel View is a beautiful seafront property situated in the south west corner of Rhossili, overlooking the Worm’s Head. The Gower Peninsula is designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the first place to be assigned this title in the UK. Within a few minutes’ walk of the holiday cottage there is a huge expanse of beach which can also be seen from the property and was shown in the open ceremony of the Olympic Games 2012. It is possible to walk across the bay to Llangennith or even cross onto the Worm’s Head at low tide. This is also one of the UK’s most desirable surfing beaches. Rhossili is perfect for walkers and beach lovers and lies above the dazzling sandy crescent of Rhossili Bay which has been voted by TripAdvisor’s Traveller Choice Beaches Awards as the best beach in the UK for two years running (2013 & 2014), the third best beach in Europe and the ninth best in the world! The village is largely owned by the National Trust, which has kept this beautiful area almost untouched. Also within minutes of the property enjoy surfing lessons and hire, fishing, hang gliding, horse riding, cycling and much, much more. Shop and pub 400 yards.

Great house with versatile accommodation in a great location; was pleasure to wake up every morning after a great nice sleep and see the views and after day out around the gower watch the sunset go down from the front rooms.

We had a fabulous week at Channel View. The location was excellent and the cottage was spacious and well equipped if a little dated. It was family and pet friendly too. It really suited our extended family needs. I would definitely stay there again.

This is a beautiful and clean house. Plenty of room although the decor was a little outdated. It's a shame that the room at the front of the house is the dining room and not the lounge as the views are stunning. A really lovely location for views but no local shop for bread/milk (and we had an 18 month old baby with us) but good local pubs. A long and quite difficult walk to the beach with a baby. I cannot fault the views which were amazing and being so close to the Worm's Head was fantastic. We had a really enjoyable 2 weeks - just a lot of travelling. (Also, the details on booking said fridge freezer and there wasn't one!)

Great holiday and channel view excellent with four adults and two small children. Owners very friendly and helpful on the phone and left good welcome pack. Only complaint was sheets and bedding in annexe. Safety I have given yes but did wonder if smoke alarms were present.
