Standing gracefully within its own enclosed gardens with indoor heated swimming pool, this superb family detached house is located less than 300 yards from the beach. It combines modern comforts with plentiful character; there is a huge main living room with vast inglenook and open fire, wood panelling, Tudor style coving and ceiling finishes. In addition there is a light and spacious conservatory overlooking the large lawned garden, and a separate TV room. Dining can also be enjoyed in the large well equipped kitchen/breakfast room or al-fresco in the garden during warmer months. The sweeping solid wood staircase with stained glass window leads up to the well laid out first floor including a bedroom with a four-poster bed. Ideal for families, the indoor heated swimming pool is open all year, and the popular unspoilt beach is less than 300 yards away. It lies close to an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, enjoying scenic walks, birdwatching, crabbing, fishing and swimming. Seaside resorts close by with plenty of seaside family entertaiment include Littlehampton, Worthing and Bognor Regis, or West Wittering is about half an hour’s drive. Chichester is also within easy reach, with its beautiful ornate cathedral and abundance of pedestrianised cobbled lanes with various shops, pubs, restaurants and popular Festival Theatre and famous Goodwood Races or Fontwell Racecourse. Other places of interest include The Weald and Downland Open Air Museum, historic Arundel with castle, cathedral and various shops, and the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust, ideal for bird-watchers. Brighton is perfect for a family day out, boasting the decadent Royal Pavilion, art galleries, theatres and Sea Life Museum, plus seaside entertainment. This is our second stay at Chanctonbury, and whilst it is an amazing house, it is beginning to require some upgrading. The indoor pool is excellant for families and a great bonus to the house.

Amazing cottage. We had a wonderful holiday with four generations of us from 8 and 14 month babies, up to my dad of 81. Peaceful, idyllic location with lots to do in surrounding area. Loads of room in the house to spread out and big enough rooms for us all to eat and congregate together in the evenings. The garden was beautiful and the whole family made great use of the warm indoor pool. The sky sports was a very pleasant surprise for my husband as he was recovering from an operation and not as active as the rest of us. The very warm welcome from Liz and her'nothing too much trouble attitude' was lovely and made the whole experience relaxed and informal. Would definitely recommend!

Delighted with the accommodation and greeting/departure from Liz. Swimming pool is terrific and garden is well-kept. Rooms are spacious and furnished in traditional style - in keeping with the character of the property. Good entertainment provision with wi-fi, various TVs and Sky, as well as board games, books, etc. Quiet location on a private estate and the sea is only a hop-skip-jump away. I would definitely recommend Chanctonbury as a lovely holiday house.

An ideal setting for celebrating a "big" birthday, with all the family & friends able to join us during our week's stay. Liz was very welcoming and friendly.

Chanctonbury was an amazing cottage, we had a wonderful week for our son's birthday. The cottage was lovely and spacious, we were a family of six adults and four children. It met all our needs, the children loved the swimming pool and garden

We had a wonderful week at Chanctonbury and the indoor pool was a godsend when the weather was horrid during our stay! We will definitely want to stay there again!

The property has everything you could ever need and the facilities, ie swimming pool is terrific. The location of the property is excellent, it is quiet and yet a short walk away is the beach, shops, pubs and eating places. Even a 20 minute very pleasant walk gets you to wonderful cafes etc. Once at the holiday you do not need a car because everything is there for a brilliant time, even if the weather is not kind. Have been twice and are thinking about a third time because nothing else seems to come close.
