This was the third visit to the Chateau with group with their Classic Cars. It is an excellent base to arrange driving trips to Chantilly, Monet Garden, Compiegn, Pierrefonds and many other locations or just relax in the ground and the local area.

The property does not look like the photo on the website it looks run down on the outside, we had to pay 500 euros for the heating to be kept on. There were ants in the kitchen and once the heating was one in the rooms we were infested with ladybirds. Not a lot to do within the area and the tennis court needs to be cleaned as very slippy . Once we arrived we were not allowed in certain parts of the chateau as they were entertaining a group of 15 people which is not acceptable when you have paid to use the full facilities of the chateau for the week .

This property is grand to arrive at, but needs a lot of attention and money spent on it to bring it to what I would expect from a holiday. It is no longer as clean as the pictures would show. The kitchen is far too small for the amount of people, one oven is simply not acceptable. We had to buy a grater, peeler, tea towels and cupcake tins. And wash most items before first use. There are some lovely areas to the property, surrounded by a garden, but they do not mention the industrial estate view from the bedroom or the slippery unusable tennis courts. The bedrooms need cleaning and furnishing with usable items. One toilet room was a converted attic space with insulation hanging down. We paid A LOT for the heating. We had a leak during our stay, with clear mould showing it had leaked previously, and then were rudely spoken to in French when we wouldn't sign the French document placed in front of us, an awful end to our holiday.

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at Chateau de Villers. It is an amazing place and a spectacular setting where we had an amazing week with friends. Some minor niggles, such as: the mattresses on most beds could be upgraded and the tennis court needed to be hosed down to get rid of the lichen and moss that was growing on the court (and made it very slippy). Apart from this we could not fault it. The kids had a terrific time with free wifi, tennis courts the grounds to walk around. The location is excellent; only two hours from Calais straight onto the A16 and then off at Beauvais. 1 hour 10 minutes direct train ride from Paris, a similar time from the Palace of Versailles it is great for some trips out as well. Beauvais city centre is very pretty, especially the central square. We would go back!!

Lovely ambiance, especially important as the weather was not too good. Very well equipped and felt like home.

It was an amazing place. My only disappointment was the cooker and oven. Not convenient to cook for 18people. Saying that I should also say that the crockery and cutlery and utensils were brilliant. The games room well stocked and enough of tennis rackets for everybody. We carried our own which took up space in the car. Should be mentioned in the overview of the chateau. My daughter has already booked her husbands family to stay there next holiday.

The chateau was wonderful - it was like staying in a National Trust property.
